Arguably, black metal, being a subculture in its own right, was a way of life. But it's not like that anymore, for the most part. It all depends on how the person interprets it. Some choose to live it as a way of life, beyond the music.
I have a more conservative take on it, but only in its basic form and ideas. I don't want it to be hipster-fied, that's all. But there's no stopping it now. Why not accept what it has generally become in the past few years?
