Ditto. I spent a lot of time in my youth hanging around "the pit" in Cambridge, and there were always transient people coming and going traveling from Canada to Florida, Chicago to Boston, Cali to Rhode Island, etc.
Most of the locals were black, hispanic, gay, vegan(insert "minorities can't hold jobs" jokes) so it was a big mish mash of people/lifestyles.
Needless to say, there was always the traveling nazi/white power group, or individuals who passed through. They were dealt with tolerance and even friendliness to not upset the balance of whatever obscure family values we had. Things almost always turned sour.
Everyone has different stories about "nazis", but I completely agree that "white knight" gang mentality being retarded since most of them have never encounted any real personal negative situations involving nazis. Most of those kids would probably cross the street if they saw a black man heading their way.
