I'm not saying that's anytime soon, but we all know how things can't last forever. China has been rapidly growing as a powerful nation in the world and given the current rates - it could surpass the US as the world's hegemonic power sooner than we think. Nobody wants a world war, but as history has shown, when things escalate and allies get involved, the "shit hits the fan." The world is so unstable right now, anything drastic would result in a domino effect and affect relationships and alliances. I would never disband the possibility of any war, given the unstable infrastructure of international politics.
