Hold True Recordings announces with pleasure the addition of Portland, Maine's champions of melodic metal, ABSENCE OF THE SUN, into its family!! ABSENCE OF THE SUN is scheduled to release their debut album, "A Symphony of Unheard Words," this spring, and will be embarking on several U.S. tours throughout 2009 in support of the effort (imminent dates are listed below).

For those who are not yet familiar with ABSENCE OF THE SUN, the quintet draws from the proven influences of modern melodic metal, power metal, and thrash, seamlessly weaving together ripping leads, bludgeoning drums, and a wide range of guttural vocals. ABSENCE OF THE SUN's brand of unwavering melodic metal will surely appeal to fans of All That Remains, Amon Amarth, Arch Enemy, Children of Bodom, Iron Maiden, Killswitch Engage, Unearth, and Wintersun.

Regarding their new partnership with Hold True Recordings, ABSENCE OF THE SUN had the following to say: "We are extremely pumped to be welcomed into the Hold True Recordings family. We feel we as though we are among friends with the other bands on the roster, and look forward to some killer tours with them. Reaching out to new fans and friends, and placing our music into their hands, is something we have been wanting to do for quite some time; and we are excited about the opportunity. We have no plans of stopping, and with an awesome label behind us we are eager to take on new challenges in our long journey ahead."
