snare - i recomend getting the little plastic muffling ring that sits along the rim of your snare on the head, it cuts the sound down to make it sound sharper and tighter, as far as actual head is concerned, if your snare still sounds too loose after the muffler, use a vented head by evans, real good if your getting too much noise. But otherwise i would go with a remo ambassador on the snare. Great sound, cheap, classic. and with the muffler, your in.
I sm still trying out new heads every time, batter heads sound different with every resonant head, so you gotta try different combos, and you never know what will work with your set. AND THATS the best thing to follow, your ears. try stuff that the people you like recomend, but keep trying until your ears tell you that you found the right ones for you.
