There will ALWAYS be scumbag promoters pulling the pay-to-play scam. The only way it will end is if no bands fall for it. Boycott bands who pay-to-play and perpetuate this bullshit. I see too many bands who are all like "Fuck pay-to-play, man" until their favorite band gets booked at Marks or wherever and then all of the sudden pay-to-play is ok "just this once". Fuck that.
