when i was in sexcrement, i had to deal with the pay to play bullshit through new england concerts twice. the first time was for the cryptopsy show at good times. even though we sold well over the minimum 50 tickets and helped other bands out in the process because they helped us, i still thought it was wrong and fucking retarded. then when we had to do it for the suffocation show at mark's (the 2nd show at the same place, 2 nights in a row) i thought maybe bernie would have a little better understanding of the situation but we were still pushed to pay out of pocket. who the fuck's gonna pay for a ticket when the tickets from the 1st show were honored for the 2nd night? fucking retarded.

and i don't give a fuck if bernie reads this board, maybe he should read it a little bit more carefully and see that everyone here is a potential customer, but the numbers are decreasing more and more with each show because of new england concerts' stupid ass policies. even if it works sometimes, it's still pissing everyone off and making shows less fun than they should be.

maybe just having bands sell 25 tickets at a slightly lower cost would boost sales as well as the desire to play shows for new england concerts. if there's a doubt that the ticket sales won't bring in enough money, then the promoter needs to pay out of pocket. if you think that's wrong or don't want to do that, THEN STOP BOOKING SHOWS!!! it is the promoter's job to make sure they can cover every expense him/herself if all else fails. i've dealt with shitty promoters just as much as everyone else has, and i'm sure i speak for everyone by saying that promoters need to have their shit in check if they're going to be booking shows and dealing with guarantees, no matter how large or small.

so unless my life depends on it, i will be steering clear of ever supporting new england concerts.
