I was straight edge for like a year. Probably around 1993-1994.

Swivel/Alert was not a straightedge band, but some of the members were straight edge. They all drink now, among other things, and have for many years, just like the rest of those bands (pretty much all the early 90s hardcore & metalcore bands from NE).

So, according to the hardline straight edge law, we never were. We were poseur edge.

I was also in a fake vegan/sXe band with members of Cave In and others, called Force of Nature. It was a joke, and we never got past writing like 2 songs.

Also, our sXe golfcore band XSANDTRAPX never got off the ground.

I love the fermented grape too much to ever go back.
