As far as the black/death style logos, originally, I think the bands were looking at them more as "symbols" and weren't really too concerned about legibility. I'm all for that..it's art...symbols are more powerful than words. But now it's just silly because it's a bandwagon-esque necessity to have a logo that brands you like a fuckin' cattle...you BELONG to the scene if you carry the brand.
