I would have loved to see goratory too.

so the show started at 7pm instead of 7:30pm. Goratory for some reason asked TAS to switch places so they could play and get out of there. I showed up just after 7:30. IOW, I missed goratory.

goratory: from what I heard, they played a sick set. this was the last with their current drummer. I guessed they didn't have a singer so they just got people from the audience to sing for them. Hope people practiced up with their Orgasm Induced Diarrhea lyrics sheet. Granted the lyrics in the CD don't really match up when you listen to the CD.

the acacia strain: they started to play and I quickly learned that they weren't Goratory. They started off without vincent (vocalist) on the stage. I thought "great, now they lost a singer too!" noting that there also wasn't a bassplayer on stage. The 3 guitarists and drummer started playing and after a song, the singer came out and they started up. It was a good set, they played all the usual tracks and two new tracks. Their live set is seriously lacking without a bassplayer, but still having 3 guitarists. I think they should convince a different guitarists to play bass at each show until they find a permanent replacement.

lick golden sky: David Byrne doing arty grindcore. that's my final description of them. They sounded great on the palladium's system. I'm still not familiar with them at all so I can't really go into details. They are very entertaining live.

burnt by the sun: they rocked it. I'm a big fan of the ep so it was great to hear them play you will move. They have a new CD coming out Sept. 23 so they played a bunch of tracks of the new one. I didn't know any of those, of course.

soilent green: basically the same exact set as last thursday except this time, they had a much larger crowd of people enjoying their set. The set list was the exact same (so click on the aug 07 pictures if you want the set list). It also sounded so much better and bigger on the palladium's sound system. Ben's vocals are so awesome, but I'm not sure if I can get into a cd yet. It's that southern sound that I don't know if I can deal with.
