Hot tea does help alot. Avoid sugar. Best thing to put in it as grundle said is honey and lemon. Drink lots of water. Avoid sodas and the like. Coughdrops are your new friend or at the very least jolly ranchers. Try not to talk if thats at all possible.
I dont know if all of this is completely necessary but I was on the road for two weeks and I managed to keep my voice the whole time so it definitely did more good than bad.
