I drove to the show in amazing ammounts of snow. it started off great... as I slid through the NH toll booth at hampton and had to park to run back and pay the guy. But once passed that, it was cool driving, pretending I was in starwars and going at lightspeed. As I got closer to Boston, I turned in 90.3 WZBC and listened to a bunch of industrial music on a show called the industrical factor or something like that. they played DSBP discs which was cool.

the club was really cool. it was like one of 10000000 "upscale" boston bars, but the walls aren't covered with sports bs. they are covered with cool photographs.

as long as were all living were all dying: I walked in just as they were starting their set. I was standing right beside sam at the start and then jonah after a few minutes so I heard them yelling with out the mics.. didn't even notice there was nothing coming through the ps until someone said something. their set was super super short. I snapped some shots, people danced, and then I went to switch cameras (and then had to switch battieres). by the time I was done, they were done too. sucks! the goat was there (from the band catalyst) and he liked alawalwad alot. I talked to jonah after the show and he said he might want to do a alawalwad/anodyne set on RTTP in april!

the disappearer: sort of the low-key part of the night. great stuff, but people jsut sort of stand and stare with they play. I kept having flash backs to the show with conifer.. and now I want to see conifer!

malady: exactly what I expected from them. i've heard the cd so.. I knew what I was in for. I know a lot of people saw ex-PG99 and got a huge-ass boner to see this band. live it wasn't really much. the cd is emo-ish with just enough tech to keep it semi-interesting.

envy: oh man... I thought that they were a punk-ish hardcore band. I was definitely thinking of the wrong band. they rocked. if mogwai's CDs sounded like that, they would stil be good. they were screaming one minute, spacey sonic space rock the next. It was so tight. at the end of 45 minutes of rocking out, they got off the stage, went to the back and everyone cheered them on. they came out and played one final song, rounding out their hour long set. oldly, some of their melodies reminded me of misery signals... their engrish was bad, but they really wrote some awesome songs with interesting soundscapes.

on the way home, I listened to DaveSTF on 88.9 WERS. he does the nasty habbits show there. I know alot of people this "he's just into hardcore". well, you'd be wrong. he played an awesome set.

the only thing I an fault him for is the H20 song. I started listening at the end of the forsaken song and stuck it out to mandatory suicide. I even got a shout out.
