members of the dan deacon ensemble make improvised and composed material that integrates performative/theatrical action in a musical setting. past shows have featured instrument beasts, transgender voice therapy, wind-up toy-orchestra, contrabassnake clarinet, feedback puppies, compositions for motorized wind instruments, woodwinds, euphonium, percussion, feedback, guitar, and other... sound-making devices.
they are currently working on material that includes jazz in robes, a tragic sea-faring penguin, flying fish, a duck march, compositions for glockenspiel, toy piano, and a note-spitting carrot.
