Legendary progressive rock innovators CYNIC (guitarist/vocalist Paul Masvidal, drummer Sean Reinert, bassist Sean Malone) have premiered the title track from their forthcoming new album in the form of a lyric video. "Kindly Bent to Free US" is streaming now at Revolver Magazine.

CYNIC previously premiered 'The Lion's Roar', which is available for streaming here.

CYNIC's highly-anticipated new record is titled 'Kindly Bent to Free Us' and was produced by CYNIC at L.A.'s Perfect Sound Studios. The album was engineered by Jason Donaghy (BAND OF HORSES, FEIST, ROB ZOMBIE, RYAN ADAMS), mixed by R. Walt Vincent (PETE YORN, LIZ PHAIR, TOMMY KEENE) and mastered by Maor Appelbaum (SEPULTURA, CATHEDRAL, PHILM, INQUISITION). The artwork for 'Kindly Bent to Free Us' is by long-time CYNIC artist Robert Venosa.

'Kindly Bent to Free Us' is scheduled for a North American release date on Feb. 18, 2014 (Feb. 14 worldwide). The album will be available as a CD-Digipack a limited edition collector's box, limited edition Double-Lp, and digitally.

About the new material, drummer Sean Reinert said: "...It's a bold new sound for CYNIC and marks a gigantic leap in the band's progression. We've had a lot of time to let this material develop and gestate, and it finally feels ready to be unleashed on the world. I've been in trio mode with Malone and Masvidal flushing out a zillion and one details, and couldn't be happier about what's happening with these songs. They are truly alive!"

CYNIC is available for interviews upon request. To speak with the band, please contact Enrique Sagarnaga via email or telephone (215-625-8400). CYNIC news and tour updates will be made available through the Season of Mist website and the CYNIC website and Facebook page.

"When you're functioning at as high a level as 2011-model Cynic, you're entitled to a bit of grandiosity." -Pitchfork

"CYNIC should be understood not so much alongside any metal bands, but along with such radical harmonic progressives in the last 45 years of pop and jazz as Milton Nascimento, the Beach Boys or Pat Metheny." - Ben Ratcliffe - The New York Times

"Cynic have returned with an elemental power. They are defying gravity at every turn with music that seems lighter than air." - MetalSucks.com
