ok review:

(0) Hirudinea - this is my kind of music. Crusty, almost Dystopia metal. Really fast stuff but parts that were kinda woooddddoodoodod too, especially the end. There was a lot of technical difficulties, and the mix on the board WAS WAY TOO FUCKING CRISP and I -hate- when guitars are crisp, so I am still deaf at this moment from that one set. But the music was great and I want a copy of their demo to rock at home.

(0) Raising Kubrick - By far their best set I've seen. GREAT!!! they sounded OVERWHELMINGLY good and VERY VERY professional. I would have brought the mosh but I think people hate when mosh is brought in the crowd that was there. Still, dudes if you read this, it was fucking great and totally validated all the shit you do. And the stage presence, with flying dreadlocks and guitars behind the head, was what I like to see.

(0) Phantom Limb - first time seeing them without a wall of glass between us. not what I normally go for, but i really like to watch them for two reasons 1) they have fucking nasty breakdowns 2) they look like the most normal looking guys ever. You could put all three in a room and say, "What kind of band do you think these guys are in?" to someone who didn't know them, and that person would go, "Umm...probably like a jazz-fusion thing." But they'd be wrong, it's old school death metal like Sepultura and Cannibal Corpse. Figure that one out. The main guitar guy I met tonight but forget his name. He write really good songs. Kevin is a nice guy and we chatted for a bit.

(0) Random Acts Of Violence - WHAT THE FUCK?!?!?! WAIT A SECOND...I saw these guys at O'Briens and was like "Not too bad". WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS TONIGHT?!?! THEY WERE INCREDIBLE!!!! I HAD TO PULL MYSELF AWAY TO GET THE LAST TRAIN. Fucking A.....unreal. I want to see them again, taht's for sure. Brutal breakdowns, incredible solos, and the drummer plays all this on a fucking 5 piece...holy shit....who knows where I can find mp3s?? Plus 92% of the crowd came to see them cause the place was fairly packed by the end.



so in conclusion: all the bands were awesome tonigh, highlights being the bedazzling sets by RK and RAoV.

worth my fucking time, that's for sure.

good thing i don't have epilepsy (sp), the flickering light during phantom limbs set was driving me nuts and giving me a headache.

hirudinea - one of the best bands ive heard in a long fucking time.

Yeah that was a really good show, the turnout was really fucking good, I was impressed! I was a bit upset I missed Hirudinea...for once I wasn't wasted that's good and it's rare. I had fun.
