New site? Maybe some day.
I just watched this last night and thought it sucked...did I miss something? |
Good buildup. Genuinely scary and disturbing at times. The hallucination scenes were very unsettling.
Ultimately though, the villain made no sense. The ending made no sense. It's not like I wanted another corny scene where she goes to the library and scrolls through "Babadook terrorizes family" articles on microfilm or something. But some kind of explanation of what the hell was going on would have been nice. |

She's insane. The Babadook is a personification of her darker side (the one that blames her son for her husband's death). She's never going to get rid of it, but she's found a way to control it for the time being. |
Maybe but the book was real though. Her son saw the book. Are we to believe that she, in a psychotic state, wrote and illustrated the book herself? |
It's being told from her POV. |

you are a faggot |

I thought that it was good. The ending was funky, I agree. What the hell is the Babadook exactly? I dunno, but it kind of reminded me of Poltergeist. |
I loved the scene where her son made that dove appear at the end |
The kid wasn't real, she had been reading the book to herself the whole time. |
Then how did he make that dove appear? |
i liked it. creeped me out. i felt like the ending should have been altered/movie could have been longer to explain the outcome, but overall well done. one of the more innocent-creepouts i've seen since Fire In The Sky. forever scarred from that one. |
