just heard a few tracks off this cd.
some of the vocals sound different.
the title track turns into a stoner/sludge type thing half way through.
from what I heard it should be pretty good.
anyone else have any thoughs on this cd?
i dont care if you dont like converge.

it sounds like they have been listneing to a ton of Anodyne and Lickgoldensky

where can I hear this?

When does it come out?

I think that it's the other way around... anodyne probably (like 99% of bands) listened to converge. They've always had a crazy and out there side to their music. I think it lead a bunch of their old tracks astray.

jane doe was decent. I hope this is good. I'm actually surprised that the vocals didn't change a long time ago. anyone that's seen them recently has probably noted that bannon's voice seems to be slipping away. I hope epitaph and the reunion of "good" cave in makes converge get a 2nd guitarist back.

yeah I completely see what you're saying aboy Jake's voice

I noticed I can understand the lyrics now. What the fuck is that? Part of what made them cool before was that Jake would just wail about and flail about and you weren't even sure if he knew what he was saying or doing. Now he doesn't try so hard and actually PRONOUNCES the words and ENUNCIATES....(if I spelled that right). Last time I saw them I actually LEARNED words at the show, instead of wondering whether or not I even read the right ones in the booklet.

last night i pulled out 'petitioning the empty sky' for the first time in a year. that was converge to me. i liked jane doe, but not for the same reasons i like converge.

ok, I just listened to it twice. in a lot of ways it reminds me of ptes and in a lot of ways it reminds me of jane doe. this disc is completely solid though. I did hear a single track I didn't like. One of my big beefs with jane doe was that it was just straight ahead hard for the whole cd. YFM has a lot of stops and slow parts, one song like track #2 on PTES and a bunch of "out there" spacy parts.

Oh, track #4 reminds me of the taste of silver.
