A just ending, washed away the awfulness of the Dexter finale last weekend.

I was having a convo last night about TV. I think that the quality of TV shows has replaced the quantity of shows. There used to be 4 shows on Friday nights that everyone watched on the same channel.. same with other days off the week. Now there are maybe one show a week or 2 shows a week that are shows you watch, but the quality of them is cinematic. It's like they are putting all their eggs in one basket in a lot of networks cases. I would love to see the $ ad revenue generation on a cyclical plot based on weeks and maybe seasons.

Whats the difference? You're sitting at a computer and complaining about what other people do to other people you do not know.

BRILLIANT.

Some of have computer jobs which leaves us no choice, while others work retail such as yourself. Get a life

No choice eh? You are being forced to post useless commentary on this board as opposed to doing the work that your super-important-non-retail-computer job entails? I'm sure your supervisor is vastly impressed with your multi-tasking abilities. This intrigues me to no end and I think I will create a new television show based on its plot so that other couch potatoes with no life may enjoy. Thanks for the inspiration!

You sound mad bro. Good luck caring about BREAKING FAG

toggletoggle post by Somebody else that is smart at Sep 30,2013 10:55am
This is fun. We're having fun! Please continue as I welcome the intelligent discussion. My lowly retail job does not allow me have such fullfilling conversation.

Go sell some shoes about it.

toggletoggle post by Spence at Sep 30,2013 3:05pm edited Sep 30,2013 3:07pm
Honestly, the inner critic with me has problems with the last two episodes, especially regarding Jesse(considering he's one of the two stars, and this is a character driven story, why is it that his character did absolutely nothing these two episodes other than tug at heartstrings? Like he did do stuff, but it was all filler in a sense, even his choice to kill or not kill Walt was meaningless since Walt would die anyway. And when you consider the fact Jesse's prints would be all over the meth lab, and all over the chain that was clearly used to strangle Todd, it's kind of implied that he's fucked anyway - despite the show trying to make us believe that he's not.)

But that aside, amazing amazing show. And as a whole, that ending was pretty good. When you compare it to a lot of other final seasons of shows(like Lost, Dexter, The Sopranos, The Wire, etc.) then I think this show will definitely NOT go down as dropping the ball. Unlike basically everyone else.

toggletoggle post by ark at Sep 30,2013 3:34pm
i haven't watched the BB finale yet, will tonight. I disagree that Lost dropped the ball. See the Lost thread. Of course, them basically admitting they wrote it on the fly makes sense.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 30,2013 4:42pm
@Spence... who do you think called the cops to that location?
I figured it was Jesse.

toggletoggle post by lol at Sep 30,2013 5:50pm
^might've been a neighbor who noticed an m60 spraying bullets into the house next door

toggletoggle post by Spence at Sep 30,2013 6:23pm
Yeah, exactly. Even a handgun with a silencer, is considerably louder than what movies and video games would have us believe.

So a fully loaded machine gun emptying every last bullet? There's no way someone DIDN'T hear that.

That was my interpretation anyway. Jesse didn't have a phone, and I doubt his first act of freedom was to find a payphone.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 30,2013 7:37pm
The Nazi's Camp is in the middle of the desert. If that were the case, there are a million different places that they would have been heard and a million other times the cops would have shown up.

toggletoggle post by Spence at Sep 30,2013 8:41pm
Did they show them to be in the middle of the boonies? I don't recall them showing us one way or the other.

toggletoggle post by the_taste_of_cigarettes  at Sep 30,2013 9:54pm
Maybe they traced Lydia's call to Walt?

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 30,2013 11:33pm
@toc: Lydia was still alive, not under surveillance.

@spencer: THEY WERE DOING PRODUCTION LEVEL METH, ASSASSINATING PEOPLE, AND LIVING IN A NAZI COMPOUND. You think that would be allow around public space? That place was out in the middle of nowhere. Where do you think nazi's have compounds.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 30,2013 11:34pm
They also go to Walt VERY quickly when he called them. And that place was in the middle of nowhere.

toggletoggle post by demondave at Oct 1,2013 12:40am
Time could have passed when he was wandering around the meth room. It may not have been right away. He also said to his wife about how the police were coming to him, so he could have arranged someone else to call in advance.

toggletoggle post by demondave at Oct 1,2013 12:41am
^ rather, in advance - he arranged to have someone else call it in.

.

toggletoggle post by Alx_Casket  at Oct 1,2013 7:32am edited Oct 1,2013 7:33am
The compound was probably on the police's radar but Skylar probably went to the police and by the time she cut a deal for info (gps coordinates and implicating the gang), the whole series of events was coming to a close. Maybe Jesse got pulled over for speeding on the way into town and they asked where he came from, maybe it was just someone nearby the compound who called it in after the gunfire. Doesn't really matter

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Oct 1,2013 8:26am
The GPS coordinates were close enough to the compound since as I said, the gang got to walt and killed Hank very fast. but still, you think if the compound was just "on the radar" of the police that it would have just stood there? They were making meth and murdering people out there being hitmen for hire.

toggletoggle post by Alx_Casket  at Oct 1,2013 8:31am
Exactly, there really isn't any reason to question why the cops showed up.

well, I'm just curious if I missed anything. Life WW getting shot. It also looked like Jesse was going to crash.

toggletoggle post by ark at Oct 1,2013 10:01am
Walter White is one of the best Western outlaws in history. I was expecting the bandito banda to start playing.

toggletoggle post by dreadkill  at Oct 1,2013 10:07am
I liked everything except the song playing at the end. I would've rather just had the natural sounds of the scene. It didn't need a musical soundtrack. That's so typical and breaking bad was an atypical show. Minor gripe aside, I thought the ending was great.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Oct 1,2013 10:15am
I agree with the music at the end being out of place. It's like how the walking dead is doing that... They are sneaking in new songs to get people hits. The music should be iconic (like when WD played cash) or completely original and fitting for the show.

toggletoggle post by ark at Oct 1,2013 10:22am
BB has done that before with music that fit the scene but they should really have gone out quiet. That last song was annoying, and I don't even remember it.

toggletoggle post by JDDominationnli at Oct 6,2013 11:19am
The use of "El Paso" by Marty Robbins at the beginning of the episode was perfect. If anyone knows that song and the story of it, it fit so well with the whole theme of the finale.

They should have shown us the meth making in more detail so we can do it at home. Fuckin' meth, I love meth. I love heroin more. Maybe not. Can't tell, strung out. Hey, wanna buy a Wild Rags edition of "Fallen Angel of Doom"? Fvckin' kvlt, bro.
