I'm interested in this sort of stuff, but it always cracks me up when scientists think they can put an age on or estimate the size of the universe. Universe is 13 billion years old? My ass, based off a sampling of observations of one teeny tiny spot by people with sampling devices that can't reach anything significant.

I like the "what will it find" the answer is nothing. Voyager is more likely to win the lottery 6 times now than ever hit anything

Hasn't passed the oort cloud.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 14,2013 10:34am
Oort Cloud is still hypothetical

Ya face is hypothetical.

Voyager has that obscure Carl Sagan gold disc with it.

The only thing humanity's going to do now is convince aliens to nuke the site from orbit.

"Look, a planet riddled with neurosis and instability. Should we put them out of their misery?"

I'm willing to bet some fucking BEER on this, but I bet we can kick the ass of half of the different species out there in the universe. I am not talking about weapons either, I am talking about getting a fist in your fucking face and a boot up their alien ass.

Someone on the NWN board has already bootlegged it. I've got my die-hard 180 gram gold wax version coming in the mail any day now.

wonder if it will ever reach the gamma quadrant.

The founders are going to look at the golden disc and think "pathetic solids"

If the universe is infinite in terms of it's size, why can't it be infinite in terms of the length of time in which it has existed?

Good question. Also, does time exist everywhere, and at the same "frequency"?
