Why do people revere the past? Embrace the new and live life to the fullest. Like me.

WHAT THE WORLD NEEDS IS A SEGA SATURN EMULATOR THAT ACTUALLY WORKS WELL. THE SYSTEM WQS MORE COMPLEX THAN MOST AND CONTAINED 5 DIFFERENT PROCESSORS. THE ONLY WAY TO EMULATE IT IS WITH DAMEON TOOLS LOADING AN ISO IMAGE AND A SUBPAR EMULATOR THAT CRASHES..

Because new console games suck in comparson, they're just graphic and sound highs with gameplay as an afterthought. Name one console game in the last fifteen years that compares to Legend of Zelda, Mike Tyson's Punch Out, Metroid, Zelda II, etc.; you can't. All they had to work with in the NES days was gameplay, because they didn't have the graphic capability of even an arcade console from the era- but less became more. With every advance in technology afterwards, programmers got lazier and lazier, and now it's all just sonic sensory overload and tired attempts at virtual reality, instead of well-written, creative, thought-out, aesthetically pleasing game play.

Elder Scrolls, man. Satisfies all those criteria you mentioned, well-written, creative, thought-out, aesthetically pleasing gameplay.

I'd take Def Jam: Fight For NY over Mike Tyson's Punch Out any day.

You sound like aril

An anonymous aril calls someone out for sounding like aril. That's so arillious.

Cool, I'll look into it, although from the little I'm reading thus far I don't see a console version, just the computer - what platform is it on? Computer games are a different story for me than console games, I think computer games in the last decade beat the hell out of computer games from the 80's; on my end, Stronghold 2 is a computer game I'd very highly recommend. Great atmosphere, music, the best artificial intelligence and varied algorithms I've ever seen in any game by a factor of a thousand, and game play that as a result never gets old.

Does the Statue of Liberty light up in it?

I bet there's no little pink guy running by in sweatpants.

Some fight for New York...

In all seriousness, though, haven't tried that one, so I can't comment. I guess in fairness I don't get to try new console games that often in recent years, so there are way more I haven't played than have.

The Elder Scrolls
You've probably heard people refer to Skyrim over the last year. That's the most recent release in the Elder Scrolls series. I started with Morrowind but most people got into it earlier with Daggerfall. There are PC and console versions. I play on Xbox but most here will tell you that the PC version blows it out of the water. I've never had a PC that was good enough for games like that.

Me either, I've always had that problem. I guess if the computer version is considered better, I wonder if I tried go find one of the earliest PC versions of the series whether maybe my computer would be fast enough by now?

Or maybe I could just rent it for my little bro's old xbox 360 I've had gathering dust in my room the last five years, that thing probably still works even though GTA wouldn't play anymore, I never actually tried it out with any other games because there weren't any others around.

Thanks for the recommendation.

Stronghold 2 is some great emergent strategy gameplay. Elder Scrolls III - Morrowind came out for original Xbox, PS2, and PC, there is updated versions of the PC game with enhanced graphics, areas, and bug fixes but the regular version is just fine and would definitely run on any PC that can run Windows 7

you can't mess with the classics, but this just sounds like some ignorant facebook rant about gays, bro.

Mario saved seven mushroom dudes in drag before finding the Princess, and no one ever judged him. And have you see what was normal between rounds on Ring King? Rants about gayness would therefore be besides the point.

(I know you didn't mean that literally, I'm just being a smart ass.)

Ever try Map Editor mode on Stronghold 2? When you really get into it, the degree to which you can program a scenario is still amazing to me, as is the amount of times you can play a scenario exactly the same with the same variables and yet have different outcomes each time, if it's balanced right.
