young sexy assassins: they sounded like they were trying to make art-rock, samples+guitar+keyboards+drums, but you couldn't hear the guitarist at all so it came off sounded like post-punk (oil-PIL, dancy killing joke) relying heavily on the bass and drums. they would probably disagree with me here and say that they are desk-rock. I'd say the best part of their set was the bridge on one of the last songs where they all stopped and then the drummer played a few notes on a xylophone sitting beside him. all the other members jumped up in the air and just sort of hung there for a second and then all came back in at once. the singer found the "loophole" in the whole "no drinking on stage" law in NH; just get down from the stage, drink, and then come back up on stage. for merch, they had coffee mugs and moustache wax, how ironic.

codetta: emo-ish rock. I guess they guys from this band were in metal bands 3-5 years ago (the drummer was in humans being). by far, the best thing about their set was the drummer's faces. I swear he was looking at the cymbol like he wanted to eat it's liver.
the network: I think they only miced the vocals? not sure, but I know pete didn't have a mic for backup screams. maybe this is some new regulation for safety reasons. for the first 4 songs, I couldn't hear pete's guitar at all. I don't think he could either cause he was either fiddling with it and his rig or trying to hack off nate's (bass player) head with his axe. I didn't recognize the 1st and 3rd song they played, but it could have been from the issues above. I'd have to say the best part of their set was seeing jonathan (brith rites) get punched in the face by a girl. not cause I don't like him, but cause it was funny. |
hahhaaa i better make fun of him for that tonight |
I think the highlight of this night was when the old people up front sitting at the table enjoying their drinks heard our first song and immediately got up and left. Not to many people where expecting our set coming. we had fun Thanks rev for coming. |
And thanks Jonathan for handing me my beer at the end of every song. |
