Anoxia isnt at the status they deserve to be at. That band is probably one of the most technical and intense DM acts to be out in years. Intense killings is almost like litsening to she lay gutted on speed ( if thats possible). I find it amazing that a giant DM label hasnt picked up anoxia yet. absolutly leveling band. I cant get into this show but im sitting out side just to litsen to anoxia play. |

Excellent show! I wish Anoxia's drummer was mic'ed up though. I remember the sound was sick at the Bombshelter. Abhored's singer must have gills to sustain that lung compacity. |

anoxia: they sounded really sick. I thought I'd seen them with 2 guitar players, but I guess I hadn't. the drummer sat around and figure out all the other drummers stuff while they played.
abhorred: so starts the anti-bass player rock block. another rockin' set by these kids.
clitorture: ok, they drive here from albany and one of their cars breaks down in ludlow mass. but they still got to the show, played a brutal set and stay til 1/2 way through BOEs set. I can't wait for them to play on my show in nov.
teratism: it was hard to hear a lot of the things they were doing. it took me a little whie to get use to what that room was doing to their sound.
bane of existence: they were very hard on themselves for this set. I will admit it sounded a little off. jim guitar was off and the bass was making some weird noises. still they played all the hits before heading home to rub on some bengay. |

anoxia kicked ass, but saying there are one of the best bands in the US is a bit far. if you said goratory is one of the best death metal bands in the northeast right now you'd probably be right. heh. I was a bit suprised they had a new guitarist too, seemed like he had no problem playing any of the crazy riffs. |

No, I guess. I was more in the mood to hang out than be inside, plus I didn't have any earplugs so that didn't help. It happens to me a lot that I go to a show and hang outside. It's not that far, plus I get a ride anyway (I don't drive), no matter what it's good to get out of PVD. If it wasn't for shows I would be dead by now...even if it's just hang out at shows.

Lol, yeah that's what's happening with me too...this is exactly what I'd like to play. He made me want to pick up the bass again (I used to play about 8 years ago), so I'm totaly going for it. The first time I listened to it I just couldn't stop, the LP packaging is great too, there's an old school balc and white poster in it.

I am the first guitarist that played in a anoxia for 5 yrs, left for 3 yrs, i have been back for about 4 months. I wrote 7 of the 10 songs on the Intense killings album (this is actually i.k. cd pt2). the other 3 songs josh wrote most of w/ dave. dan even wrote a couple riffs.

here's my late assed review of this show:
anoxia - pretty brutal, different guitarist from the last time I caught them at the AS220 in PVD. still damn brutal...a lot of sick fast riffs. Swap out that HZ in your mh-301 and get an 81 put in that mothafuka.
abhorred - came out and played a pretty energetic set, why does assuck turn around when he's playing a solo? is that your impression of a nu-grind band? hahaha. anyways, finished off with a slayer cover... awesome shite!
clitorture - apparently had some issues getting there...sucks... but made it and played a pretty heavy set. lots of chuggy breakdowns, and no one there to dance to it. sad. haasn't anyone learned my mosh moves yet?
teratism - probably my favorite set of the night, dual vocals are awesome. good drumming and guitar playing. I don't think I like the sounds I'm hearing from the POD's. I don't want my other guitarist to get one and I know he's thinking about it.
bane of existence - finally came on at about midnight or something...first time seeing them since they played with ATR last. Vocals were still sweet, I couldn't hear any of the guitars it was really muddy sounding even with two guitarists playing now. I love it when drummers make it look like their playing is effortless... I need to learn drums because they're aren't enough of them.
good show, I was fucking tired though once teratism took the floor. Aaron looked over and saw me dozing a couple of times. haha. Poor turnout for a friday night. I know there were shows at the palladium, but I mean, what about all the berklee kids? This shit's like down the st. for them.

yeah, the HZ was meh, but you'll hear a pretty big difference in clarity with an 81. and for fast riffs, it's better if the sound is as clear as you can get it. Otherwise it just sounds like "ASJDFJDSLASJDFLAJSDLGJFDGU@#$#@$#@$(#@!$@#$#$" |

with the pod..you have to take the time with it..i am unpatiant and we practice at our drummer so I dont get to play it as much as i like. It comes with a cd to custom your sounds..but i have no computer. If you have a good cab that helps..im broke so.. but when im playing shows and not mic'ed i have ta crank it up..and i think my cab cant handle it. there so much to do with pods..and i havent even scratched the surface. |
