Anybody else seen this movie on netflix yet? Just finished watching it last night, and was pretty good, I can see how it can be hit or miss for some people, but overall I thought it was one of the better horror movies I have seen recently. Basically its all shot on vhs, and small horror shorts all tied in together, these dudes have to break into a house to steal a vhs tape, they find a corpse in the house and they individually watch each story.
Saw it in the theater. It's worth seeing if you're into horror movies, but it wasn't anything amazing.
For the sake of busting myths: the movie is not all shot in VHS. The film is actually a handful of short vignettes done by different filmmakers. Some of it is clearly shot in HD and (unsuccessfully) made to look like VHS. Other parts are supposed to be cell phone cameras or in one case some hidden glasses camera. And then some of the shorts are mixed media and randomly have HD parts mixed in with VHS with no real rationale to it.
The very last short... I think, the one with the haunted house with the ritual in the attic, was far and away my favorite and did the best work with special effects and concepts. It made up for some other much less impressive parts.

I liked this movie - it started out slow but got pretty good. i thought the part where the vampire grabbed the nerd and took flight was pretty scary
thanks for the explanation of the movie xmikex - it makes alot more sense to me now
The first story with the demonic vampire psycho chick was good, and the last where those dudes went into the haunted house, that was badass. Stream it on Netflix and drink some beer, worth a watch at least once.
Didn't know if this movie played some theatres or went to video, and never really heard of it before other than stumbling upon it looking for something.
I'm up to the film with the kids in the woods. No major complaints so far. Not blowing my skirt up either.
The kids in the woods one was the worst. An invisible serial killing blob of noise that looks like you're scrubbing footage on a Media 100. Not doing it for me. Would on the blonde girl though:
I watched the first 15 minutes of this before getting bored and posting about beating up Church Whip on tumblr and facebook. I feel I didn't miss much.
