... I bought it last night. Tons of interviews, live clips, videos, and other silly stuff. I don't really understand why Peter Steele was in it so much but that guy is fucking nuts. Mostly New York death metal bands on it but there are also quite a few European bands. This DVD is pretty killer, very informative...

toggletoggle post by coldnorthernvengeance  at Jun 25,2004 5:24pm
yup...Newbury Comics in Peabody is where I got it... You might want to call first and check to see if it's in stock first because I got the last copy when I went there...

it's an ok watch. could have been better. bill is a big carnivore fan, thats why pete steele was in it. i actually thought his parts were the best. i'm a huge carnivore fan, so it was cool to hear what he has to say about it these days. the interviews over the phone with just a picture of who they are interviewing is pretty fucking stupid and boring. i want to see his real movie. i think it's called metal heads.

Billzebub? I have one of his magazines. He's a funny dude when interviewing people.

Someone needs to do a documentary about the true nutcases... The worldwide Black Metal scene....

toggletoggle post by coldnorthernvengeance  at Jun 26,2004 4:13am
For some folks I guess it's just all science... There really is not much too it at all... For others there might be something... There is a phatasm, the other side...

That DVD sucks. We got it at the store, I just ordered one to check it out it first, I won't order it again. It's a complete waste of money.

WOULD NOT BE INTERESTED IN ANY BLACK METAL DVD...BUT i GUESS WOULD BE BETTER THAN ANYTHING ELSE THERE IS TO OFFER... tHIS DVD BETTER HAVE SOMTHING WORTH IT....DEATH ,EXHORDER,OBITUARY,DEICIDE...ANY THING OF THE EARLY SHIT...WHO CARES ABOUT CARNIVORE..THATS NOT DEATH METAL...THAT SHOULD BE ON A NEW YORK HARDCORE DVD WITH CROMAGS AND AGNOSTIC FRONT...THAT WOULD BE COOL...BUT WHAT ABOUT THE REAL DEATH METAL...AND NOT BLACK METAL CRAP!!! FUCK THAT SHIT!! IF ITS GONNA BE A DEATH METAL DVD ...THEN IT BETTER KNOW ITS ROOTS OR IT'S GARBAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't bother getting this DVD, it's pure shit. Earache just released a DVD with all the early Earache bands (live, interviews etc.) I just ordered it, I'll check it out and if it's good I'll order another one for the store.

the documentary is worth watching. mostly ny bands though. if your not a musician it can be cool I guess, if you are a musician it's just like your hanging out with your band bitching about how tough it is being in a metal band. I think a black metal dvd is a horrible idea. the art is already exploited and competley diluted, a dvd can only make that problem worse.

from what ive seen, bill zebubs work is pretty shitty. metalheads (the other movie he did that people know of) is a huge piece of crap/waste of time.

toggletoggle post by xmikex at Jul 6,2004 5:09pm
The death metal documentary should just be an hour of chris barnes sitting at a desk with pencil and pad of paper writing six feet under lyrics and trying to find a rhyme for Zombie Decapitation or something retarded

a whole hour of... "Salami defecation?...Nope....Rhombus mutilation?....No.....Wombat constapation?.......SNAAAAAAAAAKEEESSSS!!!....NO! *scribbles out furiously*"

i saw this back in July. It was funny cause we watched it with Misery Index and Dan (brutal truth) goes off about how DF revolutionized DM vokills. anyways, it's a good thing to watch. my complaints is that it was way to focused on NY. I wanted to see some shit from Europe or Montreal.
