instead of derailing shoes' thread more, I figured what the fuck ever... If you were between the ages of 10 and 20 in the early/mid 90's you owned/liked at least one of these albums. FACT.
My grandfather bought mellon collie for me when for my birthday when I was a kid. My birthday is around halloween and he thought I was pulling a halloween prank asking for a "smashed pumpkin" cd. CSB. Album is awesome. Related, the font is what a forest of stars uses for their logo.
your fact is wrong...i liked those SP albums but didnt love them by any means and as a skate/surf rat, we hated bands like Millen collie. wicked rollerblader band dude

Never liked his vocals, but I admit to buying Siamese Dream when I was 14 and liking some of the songs, at least the guitar ideas anyway. The layering on Today is great, also liked Hummer, Mayonnaise, Disarm, can't really remember if there was anything else on that disc I liked though. Cherub Rock annoys me. I probably still have this disc somewhere, just haven't listened to it in more than fifteen years.
12-year-old posbleak had a crush on Billy Corgan and would listen to Mellon Collie and Siamese Dream in her room with all of the lights off alllllllll the time

I honestly wouldn't include melon collie on the list despite how muh of a fag 12 year old me was for it. Siamese Dream and Gish=only good albums of theirs (and fahkin Drown, khed) oh and that b-sides thing was good too.

MOM! I can't find my dildo shaped like Billy Corgans bald head OR my patchouli scented lube ANYWHERE! Have you been snooping around in my room?

^^^ MOM IT WAS SANDALWOOD PATCHOULI IS SO MAINSTREAM
Gish and SD were the best, no doubt. Couldn't get into Machina/The Machines of God.
This will probably get me crucified here but I actually enjoyed a lot of Adore. The title track is pretty sweet and makes a good pacer
I thought in RTTP nobody took anything that someone posts too seriously. I'm sure none of you were or are now ghey.
Lemme give this another go. I fucking hated Billy Corgan's voice and the music was subpar. Yeah, the guy can play several instruments and knows how to layer. But no more than Sonic Youth, Mudhoney, Nirvana, the Melvins, L7, Garbage, Alice Donut, and so on.

if I have to be penetrated by ONE MORE cucumber whittled down to look like James Ilha's fist, I'm fuckin outta here.

Lol, James Iha would never make a fist. Guy is softer than a marshmallow princess raised in a cloud kingdom. Also his solo album was the worst album in the history of recorded music

i beg to differ. james ilha is asian and has an iron fist. trust me. thats why the poo just kind of slides out now.

Dying makes people think you are better than you actually were.
lemme add a tally in the faggot column here, never liked gish that much but sd and mellon collie definately held a special place on my shelf for a while,(i believe filed under "my parents suck and that girl i like won't return my phone calls") and even though i sold both of them around age 17 when i thought i was "too cool" i still revisit that shit on youtube when im feeling nostalgic.

also, i think i saw a pearl jam comparison earlier here, cant be fucked to find and quote if im gonna make the liquor store, but let me just say that billy corgan may be a bit whiny and emo, but there are few people on this earth upon whom i wish the same degree of slow torturous demise that i wish upon eddie vedder every single day. seriously, fuck pearl jam.

I go back to the example of the intro on Today as something none of these bands did anything close to, certainly not Nirvana or Sonic Youth. Way too melodic. Out of all those bands maybe Garbage does somewhat comparable layering but still not as melodically interwoven as that one. Of course, I'm cherry picking by pointing out Corgan's best song, the guy wrote LOTS of crap.

Love Siamese Dream, hate when people don't refer to me by my first name.
