I sort of disagree. have you ever priced out S3 storage? the problem is that you need 5 9's at a minimum. That is wicked pricey. I was looking at S3 for a back up and it would be like $6K a year to store my home data. This would be pretty nice as a 3rd place back up... maybe a second space.
I always have 2 copies of everything and in most cases 3. Right now, I'm tapped out of space at home. Working this in might just be what I need so I can get rid of my "dark" drives.
Though thinking deeper, I have 8TB that I would need stored. 8*1024*.01*12 = $1K/year. M'eh.
