Then again, wtf is a 3-month old doing in a movie theater. On premiere night. Solid parenting, bucko.

its a superhero movie complete with toys in toy stores everywhere. how can you not expect parents to take their children to it? bring them in to a midnight screening on a school night is ridiculous though.

It's not a movie for young kids just because they have toys. Hell, Toxic Avenger and Robocop had toys and a cartoon. But there will be 6 year olds in the theater making a shit ton of noise cause they can't follow the plot.

Very little to date. It is said that he plans to do most of his 2nd amendment damage during his 2nd term. Of course, this remains to be seen depending on who is getting paid off or sucked off in Washington at the time. It just seems to me that the timing is perfect for this tragedy to be used as a political device if he was looking to unveil a full-blown anti-gun agenda.

Yummy knows how to Google? shocking. A lot of those are assumptions and connections made by people with agendas. A lot of the same things could be found about GWB and Reagan. Neither were considered anti-gun. The fact of the matter is the most obama could hope to do is something like the assault rifle ban, but even that would never happen again.

toggletoggle post by yummy at Jul 20,2012 2:16pm
Yes, I can google. I'm merely implying that Obama is a person with an agenda.

toggletoggle post by gregd-blessedoffal  at Jul 20,2012 3:10pm
I stand behind what I said regardless of all the so called googling. Every time something like this happens, there are people left and right screaming ban this, ban that (guns, movies, video games, the food you eat, the music you listen to..etc). They will find any reason to do so. Hopefully, the saner minds will prevail. Not really sure Obama is going to that distance because it is voting time and the other powers that be might have a problem with that and cut back his funding campaign's money.
Anyways that is my opinion and I hope this nutbag gets the chair.

The end.

FAIRFAX, VA—In the wake of last evening's horrific shooting that killed 12 in a movie theater in Aurora, Colorado, representatives from the National Rifle Association asked all Americans to please try, in this moment of sadness and grief, to remember the myriad great and indispensable things that guns do for us every day. "While the events of last night are truly tragic, I sincerely hope that no one at any point forgets how truly terrific guns are, and how they enrich all of our lives on a regular basis," said NRA executive vice president Wayne LaPierre, adding that the nation's citizens must open up their hearts in this time of mourning and realize how simply unlivable a life without gun ownership would be. "From hunting, to protecting one's home from prowlers, to target practice, why, there is practically no end to the ways in which guns are constantly improving our lives every moment of every day. As awful as this shooting was, none of us should ever forget that." LaPierre then closed his remarks with a direct plea to the people of Aurora, asking them to try and imagine where they would be today without the citizen's right to bear arms.

Gunman bought a ticket, exited through said door before film started but propped it open on his way out in order to get back in.

If they had run a background check on James Holmes he would have passed because his only previous run-in with the law was a speeding ticket.

And I am disgusted that some folks seemed to think if there were people packing heat in the theater there would have been less dead. Bullshit,. If anything, there would have been more dead.

I have heard the argument that "responsible" people should be allowed to pack concealed heat for just these sort of situations. I'm willing to bet George Zimmerman considers himself a stand up, responsible citizen as well...
