Infernal stronghold were a killer way to start the day. They probably shoul have gotten more of a mosh response (or any at all), but it was the first band. Filled up for them and that's a good thing.

I was going to make a period blood reference or "takes 2 girls to do the work of one man", but really bloody phoenix killed. Crusty punk with 2 female vocalists. The only thing is thei rarely screamed at the same time. Dredhead did mostly shouts/highs, and skrillexhair did gutterals. The guitar player looks really familiar. People moshed and that's a good thing.

Saturday is the hangover day so outside is slow to start up and inside too. If you look around, it is mostly the young and people with only 2 day passes. Most 3/4-day fest goers are not feeling so good back at their hotel rooms and probably won't be here for another couple hours. Beer != hydration.

In before someone says in before Black Witchery will cancel. They're here. Walked past Electric Wizard on the way to the venue. The must have left their summer clothes at home.

Looking for answers has at last the singer from nashgul. Good stuff too if you like blast beats. If you don't like blast beats, well then I don't know what to tell you.

Recuperating in the hotel room now. Already drinking again and prepping to get down to Hellbastard.

Hellbastard is sound checking. 30 minutes until bands start crossing over.

Dragged into the sunlight took longer to light all their candles than they took to set up their gear. Fact. Probably the second most over hyped band on the fest. They were exactly what I expected and wanted. They were also both incredibly borning and amazing live. The samples were off a mac that they had in the back. And all they did was stand there with their backs to the crowd covered in fog. Candles all over the stage and a baphomet in the front of the stage. Awesome. I don't smoke weed, but I think smoking weed and watching their set would have destroyed me psychically.

Bloody Phoenix must have had a lineup change or something.

The baphomet was cool.

Dragged into sunlight were exactly as I hoped. Amazing . So glad I dragged myself in early. Pun not really intended but apt

WTF is Pepelis talking about. He walked away from Dragged into Sunlight two songs in. They turned around near the end of their set. They were amazing.

Hellbastard! Wow... with in 2 seconds of them hittng the stage, I was covered in unspent lighter fluid. The singer is just plain awesome. He went to the front of the crowd, blew fire and let the members of the crowd blow fire too. One dude was a total fail, but another did a better job than the singer.

Black witchery is petty awesome, but who knew that if you made black metal, girls would want to fuck you. Though if that were true, why does dani filth have sex with so many dudes? Then again, if kevord wasn't married, he would go balls deep on black witchery as a band. Hm.. so let me rephrase, I knew that playing black metal made guys want to fuck you, but girls too? Who saw that one coming? Not me.

I left after like 2-3 songs to shoot hellbastard. 2-3 songs = 30 minutes.

October 31st is cool but everyone wishes it was Deceased.

Was psyched to see Morbid Saint and then the vocalist looked like Jammie Jasta. Still sound killer though.

10/31 is awesome. I could delete fb and the one thing I would miss is king fowley as a friend there. He tossed out a bunch of dvds too.

I have loved Morbid Saint for so long now. That the one advantage of being old. I actually got that LP on vinyl and then cd when it came out back in the day. They definitely had their shit together and could work the crowd.

Black Witchery got ugly at one point. A fight broke out inches from me that expanded and included kicking a guy that went down. I was kind of in the middle of it and it was surreal. Nothing touched me and my pulse didn't change at all. It was like watching tv and wasn't really happening. I can't believe I didn't catch a punch. I guess I gots tha ninja skills

Confessor sounds awesome. One of the bands I was seriously looking forward to. Especially cause I finally answer the question about whether it was a girl or guy singing. Listen to condemned and tell me that couldn't be a girl. Anyhow, I ran in for horna and then ran back out to hear more. They are playing what amounts to all of condemned. Awesome!

Holy fudge does horna smell terrible. It is like dirty dick, mixed with dirty pussy, mixed with the blood from impiety. That just doesn't smel good at all.

I think Confessor got the weakest crowd response I've seen all day. I actually like their albums but was getting pretty bored after a few songs myself, and wandered off to get a burger.

I just bought a Blessed are the Sick shirt and posted in the wrong thread I so don't care ever.

Brujeria ruled. All their songs sound the same but who cares. Great stage presense. Plus, tons of flags from south of the border. Anvil only had like one canadian flag in the crowd. Probably cause no one is proud to be canadian.

Noothgrush + drummer from ghoul on vocals was cool, but there was absolutely no security in there to catch the crowd surfers so I shot and then went to catch the rest of brujeria.

Watching power dave crowd surf his was from the front all the way back to almost the ohr stage and then 1/2 way back morbid angel was awesome. Morbid angel sounds great.

One of the best parts of mobid angel were all the girls on the stage txting. It really added a lot. Also, the solo in either maze of torment or the song before that sounded all messed up. I forget which one right now.

Haemorrhage are so awesome. One of the highlights of the day. Unfortunately, it took them too long to set up so they got cut short. Sucked.

Trey left during Morbid Angels last two songs. No idea why.

Has anyone noticed its like mystery band merch here. Like a 'where's Waldo' for when they set up. I tried to get a winter shirt 10 minutes before they went on and the girl didn't want to work. To busy jabbering to help me so fuck it.

Buying merch is a scavenger hunt. Dragged into Sunlight was way in the corner of the inside merch room. Their merch guy told me to come back right after their set if I wanted a tour shirt. I went back to the table after their set and they were sold out. They really should put all the bands merch tables in one area.I should have printed Godflesh shirts. The band had no merch so the guy selling plain logo Godflesh shirts made a mint.

Was there ever any Electric Wizard merch? I was only there Sat & Sun but never saw a thing. I heard the people at the fest-run merch table telling people all the EW stuff had "sold out" but I never saw one person wearing what looked like a just-bought EW shirt (for contrast I must have seen 100 people in brand new Church of Misery shirts) which really made me wonder of there had ever been any at all.

I was there at the begining of the day and never saw any Electric Wizard merch either. Disma sold all 60 shirts they had in like 10 minutes so anything is possible.

Black Witchery and Archgoat..... holy shit ..... I can now die a happy man. Best bands of the fest! Morbid Saint sounded awesome but they really want people to buy their merch. It seemed like they made several announcements about how people show go purchase a shirt or cd.

Honestly, I was really disappointed by Horna. I was really looking forward to seeing them but they were fucking boring!
