Abnormality is psyched to announce the signing to Sevared Records for our upcoming debut full length entitled: “Contaminating the Hive Mind” slated to be released in spring 2012. Sevared Records/United Underground records are a true-to-their-roots, no fucking around death metal label and distro with a roster full of extreme bands from all over the world, and we are amped to working with Sevared and our label mates throughout the year on the upcoming release. We will be filming a video this month, so stay tuned for that as well.
We are also giving a peek at the artwork for the new record, and officially announcing the ABNORMALITY - CONTAMINATING THE U.S. TOUR - 2012 - June '12 in support of the release. This is a coast-to-coast
tour with a stop at Las Vegas Death Fest as well as some other great fucking shows and lineups throughout, so
get off your ass and come out people!

We will be posting details of all the show lineups and release news soon so stay posted and keep it sick!

Why do br00tal death metal bands always have ridiculously long drives on their national tours? Is it a matter of not wanting to be away from home very long or are fans of this kind of music who aren't too lazy to book shows really spread that thin?

For the record I'm not trying to insult Abnormality. Congrats to them. I'll just never understand that Sevared style of Brutal Death.

1. strong scenes for brutal death metal in the US are few and far between. usually resulting in shitty drives to get to the next good area. i avoid the midwest like the plague, which means 4 days of driving 12 hours in a row usually.

2. the ability to coordinate more than 2 weeks off at a time for 5 people with conflicting work schedules is harder than you think. its a rarity when i can get one of my bands to all be able to go out for 3 weeks.

I'm just curious, but why is "brutal" always thrown in before death metal now? What is the difference? Is that like throwing "melodic" in front of black metal?
Sorry, the old arillius was smarter.

Brutal = Listened to too much Devourment

toggletoggle post by Mark_R at Apr 3,2012 8:05pm
Is it, though? I don't see that the word 'brutal' is overused so much, and when it is used, it seems consistently meaningful (describing gore, slam, or 'medical' bands moreso than the blasphemous/evil stuff).

toggletoggle post by blue  at Apr 3,2012 8:15pm
i use the term 'brutal' death metal to differentiate from more traditional stylings of DM. more chunkys, blasting, gurglies etc.

severe torture sounds a lot different than dismember,
