So fucking sick of hearing this stuff in movie and videogame soundtracks. And the fucking kids eat it up.
I hate when they call them "filthy" beats. You want filthy? Listen to fucking Virus or Portal.

The only dubstep I've heard has been that asshole Skrillex, and I want to hit him in the face with a rock. Not only does his music completely suck, but he's a total doucher to boot.
Guess what, shitbird, you smashing a MacBook on stage is not even remotely close to what that gesture is intended to mean. Paul Stanley should kick your ass immediatley.

Not including hip-hop, I like my music organic, or at least organic sounding. I can count on one hand the amount of bands I like that use a drum machine, and maybe on two hands the amount of bands I like that use electronics. Not interested.
I went to see Helicopter Showdown at a dubstep night recently. Even though I was the oldest person there, I still had a good time. People who shit on any genre without hearing more than one artist from it (Skrillex) have worthless opinions.
As someone who enjoys electronic music let me tell you how much fun it is to have to wade through mountains of "dubstep" and house music to find a single thing I like.

I honestly have a hard time listening to any "music" that isn't guitar driven. Perhaps it comes from 23 years of wrestling with the foolish 6 stringed piece of wooden frustration, but computer generated noises do absolutely nothing for me. I went to a rave once probably 17 years ago, and wanted to incinerate the place.

I don't know a whole lot about it, but the genres and sub-genres of electronic music have just as many factions as punk or metal. There's even a sub-genre called "hardcore".
And just like in punk/metal, I often tend to like the oddball acts in electronic music...
there's also the actual style called techno, too (not just the catch-all term for electronic music). it started when sci-fi obsessed black dudes in shit-ass detroit in the early 80s combined nerdy white euro robot music like Kraftwerk with shit like Parliament Funkadelic.

I only posted the Skrillex video cause it's the only song I could positively ID. I sometimes go to shitty clubs that play shitty music in attempts to bring home shitty women and as a result have heard more dubstep than I care to admit. I just have no idea who any of the other artists are that the djs happen to be spinning. Dubstep is ok when I'm completely drunk and grinding on some club slut.
Just watch the new trailor for Borderlands 2. It even says "90 percent more "WUB WUB" " wtf is that? thats dumbstep bass noises. YOu just randomly stick those in with some disjointed beats and some samples and its the biggest thing ever..
I'm not a dubstep fan. As far as electronic/programmed music, this has been my jam for the past few months. Much more sparse than dubstep, which works for me.

but honestly, this stuff sounds like the moshcore of electronic music. And why does every song start with emotional singing shit and then ultimately always turn into something similar to collection of nascar zooming samples with sub hits?
does dubstep have anything to do with that dead mouse guy I keep seeing?
somewhat. he's done a few dubstep songs,
but is more "house"music.

I made a ton of slow electronic beats like ten years ago. Does this make me a faggot now? What if this is what I end up being known for? If I somehow helped start this dubstep shit I will shoot myself in the face. After cashing many, many large checks.
Burial has put out a few essential albums. Dubstep as a whole borrows and has really sonically evolved from drum and bass. ARTISTICALLY , most dub step has very little artistic integrity and little sonic world building skill. I DISAPPROVE.
