Since I live in the woods, and there is no cable on my road, I've had DirecTV for the last 8 years (it was what was hooked up when we bought the house). I think we're getting screwed on the monthly fee and am thinking of switching to Dish, which I can get part of internet/phone bundle. Anyone had experience with either of these? I personally think TV sucks and watch 90% of everything on Netflix, but still want to have some form of TV available.
I have DirecTV because of my roommate who I give my portion of the bill every month but I don't see the bill. It's cheap for us, haven't had any problems so far. I keep a TV for Netflix and my XBox and Sportscenter. That's about it.
I know that with DirecTV, you get really good deals for the first couple months because they have the whole free HBO/Showtime/NFL Sunday Ticket for new customers. After that it goes up as thoseany fees get reinstated until you're paying about the same as any generic cable company.
Yeah, I don't care about movie channels, I just care about the stupid money I pay every month. Really considering switching to Dish. And yes, satellite is very white trash.
