really though. a parking lot? rain all week, past noise ordinance in a residential area, shitty neighborhood, near a busy, noisy intersection that cops roll through constantly, bands from across the country will lose cash cause pvd hipster art rats won't pay for anything except gansetts at the scurvy dog, and im positive whoever booked it has no clue you need a festival permit to do anything like this outside in the city.
at least i can ride my bike down to grab a couple all the way at ny system, and then watch the promoter try to explain to the bands how all their gear just got stolen by laotian gang members. |

You're not wrong about Providence. It's not at Castlevania cause they don't trust WITTR "management" to not advertise the location and it's a little too high profile of a show for a "secret" DIY venue.

Well that's kind of the point. This is an awesome show, why is there a 50/50 chance that this gets rained out/canceled/eats shit? If WITTR's "management" (lol) is the problem tell them to stfu about it. I seriously don't it's the first time they've played a DIY space. Given how massively hipster they are you'd think they're relish the opportunity to play an awesome Providence DIY spot (no sarcasm there, I love gross Providence DIY venues).
You really have to consider that there's probably a good reason why this parking lot show idea has been laughed at from the start.
And when was the last time any of you saw/played an outdoor show? This isn't Immortal at Wacken Open Air Fest. This is going to sound like absolute shit.
Please, whoever is booking this show, listen to reason, stop trying to be the Don King of black metal and just move the show to Machines With Magnets or something. |
