Do you guys remember when Relapse used to be an awesome grind label? Awesome bands like Flesh Parade, Exit-13, Abscess, Human Remains, Disrupt, Brutal Truth, Blood Duster, Phobia, Disembowelment.

Now, with few exceptions every new band they sign and every new release sucks. They should just live off the bands that are still on their label from the good ol' days like Soilent Green, Exhumed, Nile, Bongzilla and Benumb.

I fucking hate that band, I like alot of the bands on the label, Im not so down with mastodon although they have the best drummer who ever lived (x today is the day)

alabama thunderpussy is awesome rock n roll, which never comes out anymore. i know exactly why they put it out.

the last great Relapse record to come out IMHO is Dying Fetus - Destroy the Opposition. Nile - In Their Darkend Shrines is great of course. Origin, Cephalic Carnage and Suffocation - Human Waste rule too.

And oddly enough, the stuff on Relapse that most of us think really sucks probably sells way better than most of the "good ol'" stuff; maybe not Nile, Fetus or Mortician, but it's the stuff that we don't like that's keeping them in business and keeping their longer-term bands and their back catalog out and about. It's a business, gotta sell what's selling, they're too big to survive otherwise.

I know Relapse still has good bands, but all their new signings I don't really like. Nile, Cephalic Carnage, Pig Destroy, Exhumed, and Soilent Green are the only bands on Relapst that I like now.

Oh yeah, they signed Suffocation and Necrophagist, thats pretty cool too.

I think Relapse is awesome. Tons of great shit. Plus, they just put out Unearthy Trance, who I think are fucking GREAT.

I remember, I still think they do some good releases, but their focus has shifted stylistically.

NILE aren't on Relapse anymore.

Nile and Exhumed are no longer on relapse. The only bands that I really like on Relapse now is Fuck the Facts and Suffocation

exhumed isn't on anything anymore..

They just signed Antigama and reissued the Dolemite soundtrack. Toss in Don Cab and I think technically Halo is still on there, and that's good enough for me!

They have Brian Posehn. 'Nuff said.
