New site? Maybe some day.

I'd like to say I'd just pay off my student loan debt but um... yeah, the IRS would be all over that shit. I guess, legally, you're supposed to bring it to the police station and wait until it's considered abandoned property before you can take possession of it. HA! |
Gave it back. No question about it. |
Fuck that. Lapdance city. |
cocaine is a hell of a drug. |
I wish I could say I would give it back right away. I would probably call the previous owners and talk to them about it first. |
Came with the house you bought, keep it. It wasn't necessarily the previous owner's money either. |

Idiot. I would invest that in surveillance and military hardware stocks. |
i would keep that shit. fucking STUPID previous owners have the laziness to just FORGET they left fucking $40k in their old house? im sure giving it back would be the right thing to do, but what the fuck, they must have a lot of money to throw around if they just FORGET they left 40k in their last home.

Not rich, stupid, or lazy. Read the story. The house was an inheritance. The previous occupants are DEAD. It was their children that sold the house. Pretty normal to miss stuff in this kind of a short sale. The father was squirreling away money for a rainy day as well, nothing to do with being "rich", quite the opposite.

oh i would have totally kept it, scumbag style. |
i could really use 40 grand. like more than than i could use my pride for turning it in to someone else. |
I really liked the guy who found the money's description of his thinking. This is a great story. |
I've always given back found wallets and shit...but I'm not sure my ethics would hold up in the face of 40k. |
Mo fucka didn't tell anybody before he died. |
No, I just didn't bother to read the article and wrote my stance solely on my own assumptions
Tl;dr |

Salt Lake City
Clearly Mormon, no one else would give the money back. |

He's a good person. Giving it back was a great thing to do. After a finder's fee was pulled to finish a Nunslaughter vinyl collection. |
I'm a greedy fucker and I would keep it for sure. I wouldn't spend it right away though. I'd just buy groceries and lunch and shit like that over time instead of suspiciously paying off loans. |
