yup, anyone who still mocks PS3 and prefers XBOX just isn't informed. Sure there's some exclusives, but the system is just overall better.

when i was trying to dump my 360 on craigslist even for a totally uneven trade for a PS3, NOBODY wanted the 360, even after throwing in sexual favors, baby's blood, etc...everybody is looking for a ps3. I ended up trading it in at gamestop when they had a decent special for console trade-ins.

toggletoggle post by Mutis  at Apr 21,2011 1:50pm
Mostly likely was a copy-cat. Not ANON.

Though I hope this was a wake-up call to Sony to stop fucking stripping the rights of its customers.

Still beats the three flashing red lights and having to pay for service.

toggletoggle post by zyklon at Apr 21,2011 2:14pm
I own both systems and the only reason I have an xbox is for its halo games and gears of war

toggletoggle post by dertoxia   at Apr 21,2011 2:32pm
Wonder if this could be related to the Amazon server outage.

toggletoggle post by Alx_Casket  at Apr 21,2011 3:07pm
Yes, some of us use it for skate 3 ;)

toggletoggle post by Randy_Marsh at Apr 21,2011 3:08pm

toggletoggle post by arkwor at Apr 21,2011 3:19pm

I have never played a bluray in it and have never watched netflix on it.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Apr 21,2011 6:49pm
also, they did a survey last year and 2/3 of PS3 owners had never watched a bluray on it.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Apr 21,2011 6:52pm
damn, I've had my ps3 a long time...
in 2007, 60% of PS3 owners didn't watch blurays.
in 2009, 87% of PS3 owners watched bluray.

My PS3 gets about 40% gaming use, 30% Netflix, 30% Blu and DVD. Great machine, wouldn't mind a web-browser/Hulu access (without dealing with Hulu+), but the only real area it's lacking is in PAL/region-free playback IMO.

Blu-ray is a great format, and there are a good handful of catalog titles slowly dripping out at <$20, it's just a bummer new releases are still launching in the $25-35 range.

It does have a web browser... not a great one, but it's there.. or am i just misunderstanding your comment...

I use my PS3 for everything from porn and music from it's harddrive, to playing games and downloading demo's for dozens of other games for free, and obviously DVD, Blueray, and plugging in jump drives with pretty much any form of video and playing it on your tv. Damon brings almost everything we watch over on a jump drive. It rules.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Apr 22,2011 12:45am
he wants to be able to go to hulu via web. You can do hulu through media server with playon.

toggletoggle post by Headbanging_Man at Apr 22,2011 3:02pm
Oops, I'm ignorant haha... Actually, I think I looked at the browser ages ago and mentally relegated it to the realm of "web utility" rather than a proper browser, just cause it's so barely functional. What Rev said, I'd like a BETTER browser, one that would allow for streaming video from Hulu and other web sources (South Park Studios and YouPorn come to mind).

toggletoggle post by boxxy at Apr 22,2011 3:17pm
Yeah, i hate that PS3 doesn't let you install Firefox, Chrome, or even IE, it would be SOOO Much better.

toggletoggle post by Spaldino at Apr 23,2011 4:47pm
looks like the PSN is down due to an outside intrusion... one guess as to who brought the network down....

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Apr 23,2011 4:57pm
You can stream all those with playon.

toggletoggle post by ouchdrummer   at Apr 23,2011 5:32pm
AARRHHHRRRHH...
I fucking want this shit to work again!! I'm way too addicted to plugging muthafuckas in Modern Warfare 2s' "Mercenary Team Deathmatch" for the network to be down this long! God damnit!

REV: you can? Really? That sounds fucking sweet!

toggletoggle post by dertoxia   at Apr 23,2011 10:19pm
I didn't realize at first that this was a global issue. I thought it was just North America. For an "outside party" to shut down the entire worldwide PSN for multiple days must mean it was some kind of wicked exploit and Sony has no fucking clue how to plug the hole.

toggletoggle post by zyklon at Apr 23,2011 10:47pm
This fucking blows! I'm getting tired of playing Halo Reach

toggletoggle post by LPCustom at Apr 23,2011 10:51pm
My PS1 works fine - this must not affect older models...

"Six days after a security breach of its PlayStation Network, Sony said Tuesday that the incursion was much worse than expected and hackers had obtained personal information on 70 million subscribers.

The company, in a blog entry posted Tuesday afternoon, added it is still unsure if the intruder also obtained credit card data for members who have that on file with the service, which provides online functionality for the PlayStation 3.

"Although we are still investigating the details of this incident, we believe that an unauthorized person has obtained the following information that you provided: name, address (city, state, zip), country, email address, birthdate, PlayStation Network/Qriocity password and login, and handle/PSN online ID," wrote Patrick Seybold, senior director of corporate communications for Sony Computer Entertainment America. "It is also possible that your profile data, including purchase history and billing address ... and your PlayStation Network/Qriocity password security answers may have been obtained. ... While there is no evidence at this time that credit card data was taken, we cannot rule out the possibility.""
