Wow, this rules. It came out on Tuesday (same as Portal 2), i tried to find a thread for it, but there doesn't seem to be one... Damon brought it over last night, and holy crappola, the gameplay literally looks like a cut scene from another game. I've never seen graphics move so smoothly on a fighting game. Very awesome, and the dumbed down all the moves so that anyone can pretty much do any move they want right away. For instance, most of the moves are just two directional buttons, then one strike button.
So yeah, everyone buy this so we can all play online.

hmmmm. MK has always had more style than substance but it looks fun. i got tekken 6, it's alright, but pretty damn boring playing by yourself. i'm a soul caliber guy. to me there is no better fighter.

It depends. Tekken 4 was better than any SC.... and any other fighter ever. IMHO (now, it's possible i feel this way because Tekken 4 was the only game i've ever been good enough at to contend in at tournaments.)

That's not the case in this one. Like i said, the fact that they dumbed down all of the moves makes it MUCH more playable. I haven't really gotten into any MK's since MK2... but this one has amazing potential for greatness. I haven't played it enough yet to know it's weaknesses, but i sure know that it's strengths set it WAY aside from the other MKs. To further illustrate this point, the name of the game is just "Mortal Kombat" because it's supposed to be a remix of the game, as opposed to a sequel.... so there are definite changes for the better. You need to try it.
yeah MK will always have it's flaws, it's just a blast to play. the newer ones like Deception didn't catch my interest, they became too in-depth. i just want to bash the living fuck out of my opponent, and then kill them in a gruesome way.

The game is hilariously over-the-top violent, much more than any version previous. They've loosened up the fighting system and taken it back to 2D. It's the fastest in the series, and you can now juggle (sortof in between how SF and MvC juggles).
dude this is awesome but I got an hour and a half into the story and when i went to turn it off there was no way to save... was I supposed to do something first? I'm used to 360 games auto-saving, now I have to play the whole fucking thing over.
johnny cage's ball punch might be the greatest/coolest fighting game move ever!!!!!!! this is a amazing game imagine mk 1 2 3 all together in one. if there were still arcadesthis one would take the crown, just playin at home is the only downfall
Just got this a few days ago. It's fun, but MAN I suck at it! The combos are really hard for me, especially the ones that require speed on the buttons. I'm way too left handed.
I'm having fun, but I can only make it about four or five matches in with any character. After that I get my ass kicked. Story mode is kind of lame, but it forces me to try different players.
