Please let me know if any band would be interested in playing at KC's Tap this Sat in Pawtucket, RI. Unfortunately a band has dropped out and we need to pick another one up fairly quickly. The bands right now are Engraved in Bone, Betrayed by Prophecy and From the Ashes. $5 to get in 21+ and show starts at 9.

Does a band need to be named by "Verb-preposition-noun" to be on this? We could change to "Corpsed by Boars"...... huh? hmmmm? huh?

i know, that was dumb.

Bored by Corpses.

We could probably do it. How many tickets do we have to sell?

Contact From the Ashes http://www.facebook.com/#!/fromtheashes10 They are in charge of putting on the show. I should have put that earlier.

toggletoggle post by atthehaunted  at Mar 11,2011 2:15pm
You do not have to sell any tickets.

toggletoggle post by atthehaunted  at Mar 11,2011 2:16pm edited Mar 11,2011 2:18pm
Yes it does have to be exactly gramatically correct like we have it. Sorry I did not add that into the original post. haha

toggletoggle post by blue  at Mar 11,2011 2:25pm
i am amazed that people still book at KC's tap. do people go there now or something?

toggletoggle post by arilliusbm  at Mar 11,2011 2:26pm
From Autumn to Ashes is putting on this show?

toggletoggle post by atthehaunted  at Mar 11,2011 2:27pm
I've never been there, this is our first show there.

The place HAS potential but no one really shows up. The VIP room used to be a hot spot (up the stairs near the stage) but I don't think people go up there anymore.

toggletoggle post by atthehaunted  at Mar 11,2011 2:33pm
Well that's dumb, a place tries to help out the scene and no one goes at all. Well hopefully people go to our show. We'll see, I've heard the same stuff too though that it's nice but no one goes. Kinda lame but oh well.

toggletoggle post by brian_dc  at Mar 11,2011 2:36pm
My old band played there in like 2007...there were like 30 people who showed up and payed. I honestly think it was the best night I've ever seen there.

That's the problem. It's in Pawtucket. There aren't many people down there that are willing to go to KC's Tap.
I just went to the new location of the Met Cafe (not too far away) and it blows KC's out of the water.

toggletoggle post by Alx_Casket  at Mar 11,2011 2:39pm
Closed Casket played there in 2009 and there was a large crowd. Maybe one of the bands we played with brought a bunch of people? lol

toggletoggle post by brian_dc  at Mar 11,2011 2:48pm
You really can't blame Pawtucket. People fill Machines With Magnets and The Met all the time.

The issue is that KC's was a home for shitty nu-metal bands from around the area to cut their teeth at a venue where no one would have to hear it.

toggletoggle post by brian_dc  at Mar 11,2011 2:49pm
And that reputation lingers.

DO YOU HAVE TO LET IT LINGER?

Damn it, we need to add some Korn shit into our mix. Maybe some Disturbed or Linkin Park.

toggletoggle post by ouchdrummer   at Mar 11,2011 3:11pm
the biggest problem with the venue is that the bar is in one room (with the pool tables, dart boards, tvs, crappy food, and games), and the stage is in the other. So 97% of the time, any people that come to see one band will go directly into the bar room as soon as their friends are done. I've played there probably 15 times (with my old rock band WITHOUT) and there were times when people showed up, but they were never all in the room with the music together...

nevermind, it IS the fact that the club's in Pawtucket.

toggletoggle post by brian_dc  at Mar 11,2011 3:18pm
it's a good point, Jim. But then there's AS220 that has the same situation, yet not the same problem.

Again, I think the venue stigma just is what it is.

toggletoggle post by atthehaunted  at Mar 11,2011 4:00pm
That sucks, that is a shitty design. People suck when it comes to shows sometimes. They come for their friends band and then leave. Support isn't like what it used to be. Instead people would rather know what Charlie Sheen is doin or the Whoredasians.

This place isn't too terrible. The drinks are a good price but their (old?) soundguy needs a bit of work.
Our first time there, our current drummer was only 20 and they didn't let us play.
Our second time there, the then soundguy yelled at us for asking to be turned up in the monitors. Then a bad news friend of mine decided to throw pool balls at the crowd.
Oh, Pawtucket.

toggletoggle post by RichHorror  at Mar 11,2011 4:31pm
The show we did there with Sin Of Angels, Witch Tomb, Vaettir, etc was awesome.

Mixed reviews aren't necessarily bad. That means sometimes it's good, let's hope this is one of those times. So any takers contact http://www.facebook.com/#!/fromtheashes10

Still no bites? Is it really that bad? That sucks haha

toggletoggle post by ouchdrummer   at Mar 12,2011 1:36pm
it is REALLY that bad. I guarantee that you'll regret spending the time playing there.

come to worcester and see faces of bayon, sarcomancy, useful idiot, forced asphyxiation and nocuous instead. you will have way more fun ditching your own show to attend that one.

The best time I ever had at kcs was when some old dude talked shit about our dio cover and I yelled at him. Rich horror had a crazy look in his eye and I thought he was actually going to kill the older fella.

toggletoggle post by dreadkill  at Mar 12,2011 3:10pm
I think one of the other bands here that night was a numetalcore band named spostahurt - numetalspeak for "supposed to hurt."

toggletoggle post by RichHorror  at Mar 12,2011 3:38pm
He also complained about Thin Lizzy being on the jukebox.
