Press hype:
Lifelover, one of extreme metal's best-kept secrets, return to stake their claim for supremacy with the dark and defiant "Sjukdom" (english: disease). Following their critical acclaim afforded 2008's cathartic "Konkurs", these elusive and mysterious misanthropes venture down an even more daring path with "Sjukdom" whereby the extremes of the characteristically idiosyncratic Lifelover sound are pushed to their utmost limit: the bittersweet melodies become more beautiful whilst the pulsing, coal-black heaviness becomes uglier. What results is a slit-wrist adventure deeper into the unknown, with only Lifelover as the guide…
"Sjukdom" will be released on February 14th, 2011, and can from now on be pre-ordered in three versions from Prophecy's online shop:

CD Digipack The standard edition of Lifelover's new album in Digipak format.

ltd gatefold EP The vinyl edition in noble gatefold format is limited to 500 copies and features a poster with the coverartwork.

Box set The deluxe edition is a black tin boxset with Lifelover engraving incl. syringe, Lifelover razor, barbed wire, torn piece of cloth with Lifelover logo (patch-like), and a set of postcards. Limited to 1,000 copies!

The gimmick factor on that box set is over the top. Hopefully this is better than their last release!

I think shining is pretty decent but sometimes that singer does some really lame annoying shit.

I like all their previous releases. I'd like lifelover more if they had different vocals. Same with Shining.

Great music. Dudes will fully be smooched to this release worldwide, but great music all the same.

after listening to this, it's the same verdict as their previous releases. the music is excellent, but the vocals are goofy. Sometimes they work in sounding like a tortured soul in anguish, but most of the time it sounds like someone making fun of metal vocals.

from their facebook page:
"B (aka Nattdal): one of our founding members has an own facebook-page. He's the guy responsible for most of the music in Lifelover. Show him some support, he going through some difficult times right now and needs your support!"

Even the success of lifelover doesn't seem to be halpin this poor Swede :(
