Alice cooper just blew me away. That was fantasic. In the 4 songs I was there shooting, he pulled out a sword and cut balloons filled with confetti, ran a mic stand through a minion, was put in a straight jacket, and got his head lopped off by a guillotine. Easily one of the best opening sets I've ever seen. He started with schools out, then another song I knew... then 2 songs I didn't know.
Black viel brides is completely 100% gay. I found absolutely nothing of merrit in their music of "the nightmare before christmas" look, but they did something that is totally classy. They pulled a screaming fan out of the crowd and she joined them of stage, singing an entire song. I have only seen one other band at the palladium do (in flames). The girl did seem like a plant though cause she was way too good. Hope that made her night.

Yeah, that Nevermore set was ODD. Warrel sang a lot of lines lower than normal, and a few higher than normal. And you could tell that Jim and the roadie were trying to rein Warrel in.

i'm glad i didn't go and see Nevermore, i had a feeling they were going to sound terrible.
the Twiztid show was ok, not great but they played enough old shit to compensate for the new garbage they've been releasing. the bass was so loud, i was certain it was going to cause the inevitable collapse of that building. actually i was more hoping since it was chock full of juggalos.

I will see any GWAR show in the area no questions asked, but then again I'm a super fan and I've seen them 39 times. I can't think of any other bands I've ever WANTED/NEEDED to see at one of these shows other than TYPE O and St. Vitus.
The convention is a big thing for me too since I'm a 70/80's horror movie nerd.. While Rock and Shock isn't my favorite when it comes to picking up bootleg flicks (Cinema Wasteland in Ohio is by far the best convention in the states) it certainly isn't the worst.

The ONLY issue with Nevermore's sound was Warrel's changing vocal lines. Everything else was spot on.

i don't think i've seen Nevermore once where i felt that Warrel Dane sounded good. on the This Godless Endeavour tour he sounded infinitely better than the Enemies of Reality tour, but i still wasn't impressed.
its been about 50/50 on the times i've seen them live. he's either been completely out of shape/drunk and sounding like shit or on top his game. worth it though just to witness jeff loomis shred
Haha forgot to mention I was hanging out with Jeff Loomis at the Catina down the street. Played a game of Cricket with him too.. Apparently they (Jeff and some other dude in Nevermore) wanted to get away from the faggotry for a bit..
I was honest and told them that although I'm not a fan I appreciate what their talent, they thought that was cool and the rest is history.
