make it so that if you aren't wearing a costume you can't get in. that'll throw the black metal purists for a loop. what ever will they do without their ability to display their most obscure shirts?
Wish I could make this. Krieg kicked ass in NJ earlier this month. Line of the night from N.Imperial: "yeah, I'm fat, but I'm on Candlelight, so fuck you faggots!". Nice.
local bands represented new england well. small crowd early on for katahdin. room filled up a little for oneiric realm.
Woe was fucking awesome. krieg was pretty boring. good, but boring.

This show was a great time. Thanks to Chris for havin' us on this one. Listened to the new Woe on the way up to NH today. Sounds pretty fucking good. I think I prefer the first album but I'll give the new one a few listens.
I got a late start with dropping off friends at the palladium for The Cult, missed Katahdin which I was kinda bummed out about.
Realm Ov Burns and the Oneiric 3 sounded good as always. Their style is staying the same but they're switching it up a bit with sean sharing more of the vocals. Woe is one of those live bands I couldn't resist headbanging to. I'll definitely catch them again if they return. Krieg was standard fare, I left halfway through the set.
I saw a computer set up off to the side with some dude playing counterstrike... was that Slag?
Was too busy ritualizing and playing de_dust CS 1.5 with 1337 AWP skills

only getting caught drinking in the parking lot is real
every band sounded great. Katahdin was solid, OR had smooth jams, and WOE was so intense, their drummer is a war machine. We left after woe because pat was WASTED thanks to yosh.
Listening to the new Woe. Really can't understand how people say it's just straight forward black metal. Hearing a lot of Alcest influence in this. Fuckin' killer album.

Yosh is the man. He was part of the reason why I couldn't figure out how to get my rig working right.
I have not heard the new woe but I hear the ubiquitous singing furthers their effort to be the best emo band in black metal.
Also, what you heard seems misguided, as the only song I heard having clean vocals is the one they streamed before the release.

The drummer is indeed a beast, but can he blast while screaming like an infernal hawk?

Not a troll, as arktouros said, I have posted here before.
There are clean vocals for all of 50 seconds on the new album. If that makes Woe an emo band, I look forward to our giant sellout tour with My Chemical Romance. I have bills that are going unpaid.
Finally, regarding the Alcest influence someone mentioned earlier... Not really. Not at all. I like that one album (not the first, not the most recent) but mostly for the feeling and the dynamics. Fuck those snobby rockstar dorks.

..and fuck gay PA "black metal" bands other than bloodstorm
post by woeischris at Nov 2,2010 6:30pm
This guy seems to know what he's talking about. Bloodstorm is the only gay PA "black metal" band that I like, too.
I made the alcest comment as a total compliment. I really dig your stuff. Regardless of whether you dig alcest, listening to quietly, undramatically at work today, I heard a handful of those quickly strummed, airy chord riffs that reminded me of certain alcest riffs.

I didn't think it was an insult, don't worry! I'm still a little bitter about that band cause they tried to fuck us when we played with them in NYC. Haha.
Ive heard stuff about Neige being a typical Frog, emo style.
Ive yet to hear new Woe but you guys were very solid live.
PA's bloodstorm is actually two words, Blood Storm :P

I wish I could have gone to this.
Listening to the new Woe now. Clean vocals sound awesome not gonna lie.
