HALFORD - ive never heard but i love Priest. OZZY - i used ta like and he's still cool live. i dont like CRUE, but i think i had Dr.Feelgood when i was like 10, so i wanna check em out. and EXODUS - im a huge fan of the old days, so i hope ta hear the classics.

i went the mayhem fest just because it was free... ended up costing me over $200 after towing my care back from mansfield.

My friend got 8 free tickets, so we figured we'd go. Only other times I went to Ozzfest were when Priest and Maiden played and even then it almost wasn't worth it. Free is free, though, and I haven't seen Halford since they opened for Maiden in 2001.

motley crue was good, vince neil sounded terrible. Ozzy sounded great

Got free tix from the kind Mr. Zack Wells at last thursday's BOF. Gonna be high as hell jamming out to Halford and Crue. Aaron, post schedules if you're going so I can know when to go inside.

Went and seen the ozzfest in Hartford, CT on sat.
Only caught CRUE and Ozzy.
Crue, played everything alot slower than the original songs, mick mars should stop playing music as he cannot even perform solos properly any more (and im sure he is the reason why the songs are slower)
they played every hit right off the bat, and i was curious what they would end with....well, 2 new "songs" and they ended with Helter Skelter, and that was awesome....before they did Home Sweet Home, Tommy Lee came out from behind the kit and interacted with the crowd....bummer...what a fucking lame adult-mall-rat- wigger-clutter punk faggot of a human being. Crue looked cool and then this faggot comes out and "yo" this and "word" that and "chillin'" this and "dope" that.....WHAT A GAY FAGGOT OF A MAN. you guys wrote SHOUT AT THE DEVIL for fucksake....Crue had ample lights and stage props to hide the fact that they have a zombie guitar player and a blink182 wigger faggot on the "skins".....AWFUL...

Ozzy was fantastic of course, best i've seen him, played tunes from Ultimate sin, BATM, Blizzard - his band is fucking awesome and his new guitar player SMOKES zakk big time, this dude is flawless...and then some little chinese kid came out and they played "clazy tlain" - didnt see anyone else as most of the cool band members of these supergroups didnt even show up!!! (crowbar fatso)
go see ozzy and remember why he rules and fuck the rest....

I went to the CT show too, I'll post a review in its own thread a little later. Just wanted to say I don't agree on Mars, he stopped playing solos at shows entirely for years, but at this show he hit all the solos including in Dr. Feelgood and ripped out in a couple songs (for Mick Mars at least). I actually couldn't believe it, I thought the dude had a foot in the grave, and he sounded the best I'd heard him in twenty years. Vince, who also couldn't hit high notes for about two decades, hit them really well to my equal surprise, and actually ran around the stage.

I completely agree 1000% that Tommy's wigger talk sounded out of place and fucking stupid, though - then he whines that only four chicks flashed their boobs to the camera, fucking moron, maybe if you remembered this was a metal show and not a rap club all the chicks wouldn't be laughing at your sorry ass. I think his drumming was great though and the tempos were fine to me. When Tommy Lee remembers he's not Vanilla Ice but a fifty year old metal drummer who's still got his chops, he does fine.

Ozzy's band also made sure to play all their songs adequately slow and it sounded great, I agree his band sounded awesome and by far the best of the night, the guitarist takes seriously his place in the Rhoads/Lee/Wylde lineage of guitarists who have played on an Ozzy album in the last thirty years, and the drummer was also especially good and was the most joyous I've ever seen someone play to a DAT Tape - if that makes any sense. Instead of being constrained by it the band just seemed to sit back and settle into it, emphasizing the downbeat and making it heavier.

Crue also successfully went for the same effect in not playing quicker than studio tempo and that's why I don't get the knock for not playing faster (although I don't think they used a DAT, Vince wasn't relying on backing vocals much, except from Nikki here and there, unlike Ozzy's multi-layered vocals which popped up numerous times).

you all missed the soon to be legendary Drowning Pool/Nonpoint set! Drowning pool and nonpoint playing together was the greatest moment in metal I've ever witnessed!

SOAKfest 2010. ...was hoping HALFORD would sound like Priest and/or do plenty of covers, but they didnt and they didnt.

Left after Nonpoint. Way too cold/shitty/rainy to stay in my open air seat through 4 more bands. I wanted to see Devildriver and Ozzy a lot, but whatever. Goatwhore, Saviours, Skeletonwitch, and Kingdom of Sorrow were all awesome. Nonpoint was shitty.

i attended this shitfest for 3 hours. Glad i got a free ticket. It embodied EVERYTHING i hate about festivals, mainstream rock/metal and guy dude douche bags.

crue - sloppy for the most part. lol @ tommy lee.
ozzy - saw about 6 ozzy songs and left. new guitar player is great. too clean though. lacks feeling. i hate zakk wylde but i prefer the dirtier more raw sound he offers.

From those I've talked to the MA show sounds like it was a lot worse than the CT one, especially when it comes to Motley Crue.

Rain also can make a big difference if you're in the lawn, it looked like it was going to rain at the CT one the whole night with the way the overcast looked but we got lucky, otherwise it would have been a much shittier experience.
