i'm contemplating going to this, i just fear what Malevolent Creation will sound like there. if it happens upstairs then it might be a different story.

why? i dont think i can ever recall a great show at the downstairs palladium, the sound is always shit.
the upstairs however, not only does it have good sound, but its also a great atmosphere to get to see national acts in a more intimate setting, its just not the same when they are playing on a 8 foot tall stage
this show will do about 300 people. 300 people downstairs sounds terrible and looks even worse. I was downstairs for 450 for SYL and it was horribly sad.
BUMP..........im workin til 8. and i live in North Attleboro so i wont be there til 9-930. I just wanna catch the last 2. hope theres no danger of it sellin out. (if its upstairs).
Good fucking show, I rather like Malevolent Creation's new album. Not familiar with Bonded By Blood or Holy Grail, but if you name yourself after one of the greatest thrash albums ever, you can't suck or anything...right?

The only show I can think of downstairs that actually sounded good was Iced Earth in October '08.
Malevolent Creation were awesome. Totally made it worth the hour+ drive each way for me. Exodus were defintely 100x better upstairs than down, if only for their crazy pit action.
Not a ton of people at this show - I would only guess around 2oo maybe 250 over the night.

It was a fun show. I unfortunately missed Lich King and Bonded by Blood. The 200 /250 number is pretty accurate I'd say, which is a plus. People weren't packed in like sardines but there were enough for fun pit action.
Holy Grail - good performance and lots of circle pit movement. I never took the time to listen to them before, and I was impressed. Really good guitar work.
Malevolent Creation - surprising. I haven't listened to them in ages (pretty much since their second album) and now I want to check out the new album. They were on top of their game.
Exodus - fucking awesome. So cool to see them in a small club. I don't care what what people think, Rob Dukes is good vocalist and fits in with Exodus. And I enjoy the material they have put out since Holt cleaned up. (Tempo of the Damned and on). Dukes is funny as hell and connects with the crowd easily. "that stage dive was terrible.......do it again"
Yeah, lots of stage dives and a fun crowd. Good night.
Sounds like a cool show. Anyone catch my boys in Lich King?
Wanted to go, had to work a double, long weekend for me (four doubles, Thurs-Sun). Livin' the dream...
Malevolent Creation's new album is really solid, I'm not surprised that they're great live these days, at all.
Exodus's setlist is pretty solid too, nice mixture of older and newer material. 200-250 turnout is surprising, considering their status (in my mind, I guess...) in the history of thrash.

ya,sik show. crazy crowd. Sik pit. Tons of stage diving. wall of death. i got 5 OLD songs. not bad. Perfect amount of people there. Only shitty part was - $25 and I got stuck being the sober ass driver for the night. I just feel awkward @ a show with no beer. Drinkin makes me festive. Anyway, Mission: See Exodus before i die - check. .I hafta see every band i listen to live, then im gonna jump off a cliff.
Amazing show last night. We opened to a really energetic crowd that got circle pitting right away- we felt so strong that we went for a wall of death in our 2nd song. Unfortunately the wall charged before I meant for it to, but people were storming and screaming and there were dudes up front that knew all the words, people were shouting for their favorite songs, there were multiple circle pits for each song we did. Shit was REALLY cool. I came offstage and Gary Holt was right there, he'd been watching the set and said it was great. Ahh, the swell of my ego.
Bonded By Blood went up and had a similarly awesome set. I was recovering upstairs so I missed much of it but what I saw and heard was our pals destroying the crowd the way mother nature intended.
Holy Grail and Malevolent Creation were cool guys but their music isn't my cup-o-tea so we took a walk for some food. What did we get?
Pizza.
Exodus went up and I lost my mind. I got in that pit and fought in that wall of death and slammed to Toxic Waltz. I'm a slobbering, sniveling Exodus fanboy and I always love checking them out. After the last song Gary tossed his pick out and I managed to get it. I'm going to use it when I record new stuff. Because it's magic. It's a magic pick.
