New site? Maybe some day.

I need a car, something that doesn't bend me over the pump and that I can fit my bass stack in. This is a car (just listed today):
http://worcester.craigslist.org/cto/1842094543.html
a) is this a good deal, or too good of a deal?
a2) any issues I need to look out for with this year/make/model?
b) the guy selling it is named "Dong"
c) V-TEC JUST KICKED IN, YO |
v-tec's are real nice, but i know from past experiance that the lifetime of those engines is like 150,000. or at least that's what i was told when mine blew. |
No, joke, in high school there were three brothers named Long, Dong and Tong. Last name, Thor. |
That era Honda can last forever if it was well taken care of, ps |
from what i remember being told by a mechanic when looking at a prelude with a v-tech engine he said it was really expensive to fix if it breaks. something about the way the pushrods are designed. |
I can't wait to ask this dude, "Dong, where is my automobile?" |
find a buick roadmaster/chevy caprice wagon with an lt1. shit gets like 26-28 mpg highway (depending on how you drive and gearing. although people that have 3.73s have reported getting 28+ mpg on long highway trips) and it can hold all of your band's equipment in it. reliable, comfortable, and smooth. |
94-96 chevy caprice/buick roadmaster is what you would be looking for.
i will rep those cars til the day i die. |
And once you get the caprice you'll want to swap out the lt1 for a B16B so you can still feel VTEC kick in yo |
stay away from an lt1, offer them 1200 for the honda and call it a day. get the timing belt done at some point unless its already been done and you should be able to get 200,000 out of the engine |
I got it. Shit's clean, most everything's solid. DONG WAGON IS GOOOOOOOO |
not bad. 129k for a 96? damn. I'm nearing 150k and I've got an 00. |
