I'm going cause I have NO CLUE what dr acula are, but I get asked about pictures from them all the time. Monsters are also excellent I think.

IDW is one of my guilty pleasures. But I wouldn't drive more than an hour to go see them.

This really doesn't mean they're good though. Just because a label will back them and put them on the road in a tourbus is usually due to popularity, not necissarily talent.
I've seen plenty of amazing bands come and go who never even got a van to tour.
I've also seen plenty of shitty shitty bands come and go who've had everything from a highend 15-passenger, to a full tour bus/entourage.

I hate to go into, "it's the man", "the corporations", "Money Money Money Record Labels", but it's pretty much true.

Labels tend to push bands they think will sell, and for some reason IWABO sells. No idea why people like them, but whatever works I guess. Metal Blade is also responsible for this. See: Molotov Solution.
