GAME 7. LAKERS VS CELTICS

That was the best thing that could've happened to em. I'm glad it happened in game 6 and not 5. Now they're embarrassed, they looked like chumps. That will Galvanize this team. They were feeling good, taking two in a row to go up 3-2, that's not the right mentality to go into a game 7 with. Now at least they have something to prove, and hopefully the lakers start off complacent. (at least in the beginning) obviously i think the game will be close too, but i have faith in our dudes. We gonna take this son! *rolls imaginary dice*

Why? He's a veteran and can spread the floor. If he comes up big tonight then all the negative talk about him will go away

If the Celtics actually score a basket tonight they have a pretty good chance of winning.

toggletoggle post by RustyPS  at Jun 17,2010 12:43pm
only thing Perk is better than Sheed at is defense, and he's not THAT much better than Sheed

Sheed is a much better offensive player, especially at the line, which is a huge plus.....he just needs to not pick up a shitload of fouls early on

toggletoggle post by arilliusbm  at Jun 17,2010 12:53pm
sheed is SMART with his hands usually. he knocks away a lot of passes

Except he gets blocked like every time he tries to make a layup instead of dunking it. He used to be a loose cannon just running around out of control, but he has gotten better at that at least.

In all honesty, I didn't watch half of the game cause it was so bad and STILL saw at least 2 botched dunks and 6 botched layups.

Overall, very good half. Missing some shots and Pierce had some bad shot selections but I'm happy with the defense. Keeping Kobe cold is the key, I think. Gasol is the one they need to double team because he gets too many rebounds. Bynum as well.

He's a better mascot than he is a player. I don't mind him getting scrub time (30 seconds to go in a half or whatever) but that's all I want to see from him. This game is too vital to let him turn the ball over a couple times like he often does.

I have 2 things to say about this:

1) considering that the Celtics were 27-27 after Christmas to finish the regular season, getting to the 7th game of the Finals is an amazing accomplishment that should not (but will be) overlooked by most of the fans here, as well as everyone else across the country....my hat goes off to this Celtics team....great year

2) if I ever see Sasha Vujacic in the street, I'm punching him square in the mouth...I have a burning desire to knock his teeth straight through the back of his head...when he dies, I'm throwing a party...fuck him

hats off to the lakers D
but no calls by the refs and stupid decisions cost the celtics. Ray Allen should have made his shots.

and one more thing, I'm not watching the postgame right now, but if Pau Gasol doesn't get the MVP, there's something wrong....as much as we all hate him, he's the reason they won this series

toggletoggle post by IllinoisEnemaBradness at Jun 18,2010 12:06am

i like how everyone thought perk was easily replaceable and wouldn't be missed much. i was worried, and with good reason it turns out. celtics got smoked on the boards last night, especially in their own end, and had no transitional game. perk wouldn't have let LA get all those offensive rebounds and he would've pushed the ball out. he's the most underappreciated guy on the team. maybe people will take notice after last night.

In the literal sense of it, yeah - you're right. I say they "forced a Game 7" because some of the "experts" had been predicting Lakers sweep, Lakers in 5, Lakers in 6 (And had sweeps and early exits with Cleveland, Orlando, AND Miami!). Not to mention that they only had home court advantage in the first round and still managed to knock out the league's elite. So I still say "forced a Game 7".

toggletoggle post by DreadKill  at Jun 18,2010 2:01pm
i'm with you. i had them losing in the second round, then said whoever advanced would be annihilated by orlando. i started to have faith going into the finals, but still had some doubts, thinking they might lose in 6 or 7, so yeah, for this team to get to game 7 of the finals was pretty amaziing, considering how they looked coming into the playoffs.

toggletoggle post by FuckIsMySignature at Jun 18,2010 2:05pm

If we don't resign Pierce, then we'd be able to afford any of the three "miami meeters". (James, Boch, Wade) I would fucking love to see any of those three in Celtic green. I can't see Wade doing it, cause he already got a ring, and cause he probably LOVES to live in Florida. I could MAYBE see Lebron up here, but it would surprise me a little. Not that we couldn't give him enough money, and not that he wouldn't have a chance for a ring with Rajon, KG, Allen, and whatever duchebags we get for the bench. I don't think he'll come here because I think he wants to be in a bigger city. More bitches, more clubs, etc.... Boch MIGHT come here... fingers crossed.
