I never really was a big Type O Negative fan, mainly because of the overall "overproduced" sound. I really hate the guitar tone they used. Most of the material was good. I just cant get past the sound. I attribute the horrid productions to Josh Silver. Their cover of Black Sabbath on the Nativity in Black tribute is sooo killer and probably the best thing that band ever did. I like the Summer Breeze cover as well.....a staple of high school keg parties for me. CARNIVORE however, is probably the best and some of the earliest HATEcore ever recorded with timeless quality. Way ahead of its time. Peter Steele was talented musician for sure as the brainchild of such great band in Carnivore. This thread is a tribute to a great band and the death of great metal musician and was created for others to post their opinions on his career. RIP Peter Steele

I agree wholeheartedly, Heath Ledger's later works just didn't have the incredible edge of his breakout role in 10 Things I Hate About You.

Born of snow and ice
On a windswept cycloscape
As the Sun of modern science
The Freon neonate

Cross the frozen tundra
Each step a country mile
Frigid vapor, glacial breath
A liquid oxygen smile

Take my hand and travel north
The weather, there is cool
Heliocaustic rays of sunlight
Blind the eyes of this fool

Jack Frost foaming from the mouth
Attacking exposed flesh
Becomes my gel partner
At night we’re out of death

Slick-through skin reflects the stars
The temperature below zero
Macromesomorphic tile
Come to me, an optic hero

Blizzards taking life, give death
Flaccid northern grips
Winter tempest, bring forth the cold
Frigid apocalypse

Would you welcome the subhuman
A warm welcome for the subhuman

The iceman cometh

She walks alone
On a cold winter’s night
As I come up from behind
My icicle phallus penetrates deeply
So cold it will cauterize

Stalactited blood
drips from my pores
the skin between my teeth
Relieved of her life
A warm heart still beating
Because a delicious treat

I possess the strength
Of one hundred thousand glaciers
Triumphantly I stride far beyond
The broken laws of nature

Every storm extends my life
A century or longer
That which does not destroy me
Only makes me stronger

Cryanthropic submarine
Hydrophiliac
My sanguineous appetite
Parthenophagiac

Would you welcome the subhuman
A warm welcome the subhuman
Would you welcome the subhuman
A warm welcome the subhuman

This needed a thread? At least you gave some sort of reasoning why you dislike Type-O

i'm fairly certain that the opening riff to Ground Zero Brooklyn is the first doom riff ever. Black Sabbath was doomy in some parts, but that was different. this was DOOM. then he wrote Prelude to Agony, which is the best doom song ever written.
