I can this year though and a new lens and a laptop.

The first year that I claimed my mileage, I lost 24.4K on rttp.

you can only claim a loss for 3 of 5 years or it becomes a hobby.

I should also say that I put my WUNH engineering on the RTTP books so that off-sets some money. I made more last year from doing contract engineering work than I did from rttp ads, magazines and guitar companies combined. this year it's going to be even worse.

oh and I also need to have 7 banner ads a month to pay for just the server costs.

I just didn't claim everything. On a year-to-date without the gas mileage or the appreciation of equipment I bought before, I made certain the books said I was +$240. When you run it through all my deductions on my taxes, it comes out to a loss. When I did put in gas mileage charges, it was about $8K-$14K more (as in additional off what I already lost) debt which would then make rttp a hobby and I would have to just pay taxes on every penny of income that came in from this site.

What's Carina's thoughts on all of this?
