i have never heard them, but Hexen for N64 is one of the most frustratingly difficult games i've ever played.

I beat hexen (PC) and yes, it was frustratingly difficult.

Heretic was harder. Both were ridiculous though.

The snes contra was a little easier, but still hard as fuck to beat without a code.

my friends used to have contests to see which duo could beat Contra the fastest without dying. i think the fastest i saw was 16 minutes, but that was over a decade ago so the events are fuzzy.

All Contra games are ridiculous. I have only beaten the first one and 4 for the DS. It is just a matter of memorizing everything through trial and error. Super Contra and Hard Corps for the Genesis are hands down the hardest ones. Just retardedly difficult as fuck.

Some contras are really hard and some are pretty easy, depends on which one. The one with the blue grappling gun weapon that kills everything it hits is pretty easy.
