I guess its an okay signing....he's still a very good blocker, and the TE free agent class this year is very thin

I would like some tea and crumplers please.

He was pretty productive in Atlanta. With all the problems Tennessee had at quarterback, and the success of Chris Johnson he kind of disappeared.

This signing has been coming for a while. The Pats have their eyes on a few TE's in the draft that are more receiver oriented. The Pats offense succeeded for years with bonehead Watson butterfingering passes as the feature TE. I'm not really concerned about getting a guy who's going to pull down 10 receptions a game. Just block and find the ball in the endzone when it comes to you.

Meh, I'll take it. At least we have someone on the line at friggin TE now.

i've always been a big fan of the crump. he's old, but hopefully still has something left to give. definitely better than watson.

somewhat related, Mike, do you know when you'll be doing your draft blog post? I'm interested in reading it

I've already started it. I was waiting for the pro day workouts to wrap up so I could get some names of guys the Pats were working out privately. I was actually very surprised to hear that the Pats worked out Tim Tebow down in Florida.

If you have any names or rumors or anything to pass along I'd appreciate it.

no idea what you've heard, but I heard they brought in Damian Williams (!!!) and Ryan Mathews (!!!)...I've also heard them linked to Ricky Sapp, Jason Worilds, Koa Misi, and Thaddeus Gibson (who I also like a lot), although I don't know if any were worked out by the team

I heard Koa Misi, and Ricky Sapp. Sapp said his workout started at like 9 am and didn't finish till 3 pm.

Misi I liked a lot from what I saw of him in the combine... yes I watched the combine.

I've been saying this the whole time.

Crumpler is a good signing. He takes care of an important position we needed to fill. Let's just see what the Pats do in the draft.
