I was doing some math the other day and realized that my equipment all added up costs more than my truck did, so I'm gonna be insuring it.

Basically just wondering how many of you insure your equipment and who you have a policy with?

Metalchurch aka Matt does. He'll tell you about it.

I've been considering insuring my gear but mostly my Parker.

Get commercial insurance. It has saves my ass a few times. Brown and Brown insurance in Merrimack, NH is who I go through.

I just made a policy through my car insurance company USAA. It's costing me $18 a year and covers fire, theft, and damage. They replace the full cost. Pretty good deal to me anyway.

Cool. That's cheaper than mine. Find out what you have to do in case shit happens to your gear, and what you need to provide them for proof of ownership.

I have renters insurance, and I contacted my agency to see about insuring individual pieces of gear....

Basically they told me to make an itemized list of everything, with pics, and their value... Then they'd boost the coverage accordingly (along with my rates).

Still haven't gotten around to it, but will hopefully find the time soon.

Immortal,

I take it with the car insurance, that covers things that happen on the road exclusively?

Nah man, my insurance company isn't just car insurance. It has homeowners insurance and everything. This goes under personal valuables insurance, but since I don't have homeowners insurance like I need toI put it under my dad's policy and gave him 20 bucks to last through the year.

Unfortunately the only way for someone to get insurance through USAA is if you or a family member were ever in the military.

I work for insurance and would never insure anything unless it's required by law. All we do is rip you off and invest your money.

toggletoggle post by immortal13 at Jan 11,2010 6:50pm
Yeah, but it's worth it if my amp ever gets stolen or burned down they replace the full cost.

toggletoggle post by ArilliusBM  at Jan 11,2010 7:11pm
well, that's what the risk is. what do you think the chances of that happening are? are you willing to pay money for something, just in case something happens?
most of the time nothing happens and the money is wasted. but if you really care about your equipment that much, it wouldn't hurt.

Seeing that I'm practicing in the same building as a kid who's known for stealing other band's shit, I'm willing to take that chance.

toggletoggle post by ArilliusBM  at Jan 11,2010 7:15pm
wait, what? what kind of douche is this dude? I'd rather spend the money buying a gun and shooting him in the head. that ain't cool. it's your call.

It's the same kid that apparently stole Rohirrim and Aura of Aguilar's shit last year. He plays in Say Your Last Words now in the same building as us. Fucker should get his head kicked in a bit.

well, is there proof that it was him that stole it? if so, what is stopping people from beating this dude down? nothing like a good ol' interrogation.

This is the thread about it. Apparently there was enough proof to know it was him. Reason why I haven't started shit is because I hate confrontation especially when it really didn't have anything to do with me, regardless of the circumstances. Judging by the kids attitude though he'll get what's coming to him soon enough.

other than him admitting it to the cops and admitting it to us via and myspace comment? no
